In this role you will be expected to contribute to the powerful development and implementation of the firm’s sales programme into the FraBeLux marketplace with an emphasis on opening and broadening wholesale distribution channel as well as the institutional client base for investment management products. With the goal of significantly increasing market penetration with focus on wholesale, institutional and retail clients across France, Belgium and Luxembourg.
Role Responsibilities:
- The Sales Manager will contribute to the development and implementation of appropriate sales strategies and objectives across the target client segments in order to deliver prime rate service out of France to domestic clients in FraBeLux. The focus will be on wholesale and institutional clients across France, Belgium and Luxembourg. The individual will have the following responsibilities:
- Improve and increase the distribution of Columbia Threadneedle’s investment management products to key client segments through an active, competitive sales approach and a systematic and persistent approach of the target client segments to meet agreed gross and net sales targets. The Sales Manager will mainly be covering IFAs, pools, platforms, allocators, fund of funds and institutional clients across FraBeLux.
- Establish and develop appropriate and lasting relationships with key clients in the interest of building profitable customer relations and attaining ambitious sales objectives.
- Act as a critical link in account management and client coordination matters working with the European investment management product teams based in London.
- Work closely and cooperate in a partnership spirit with the asset management and marketing specialists in London, drawing upon extensive research and investment management policies to access and serve the client base.
- Participate in marketing activities of the firm to ensure that they focus on addressing the requirements of the target markets.
- Ensure all reporting requirements are met, including contact reports.
- Work within regulatory and statutory requirements at all times and ensure that Threadneedle meets at all times its fiduciary responsibilities.
Key Capabilities:
- Experienced, self-motivated, highly energetic sales professional with a sharp intellect and a strong, disciplined business acumen
- Deep capital markets knowledge and experience dealing with a broad range of investment strategies
- Extensive experience in understanding of all wholesale client segments and product features, in addition to regulatory limitations / requirements on investment strategies
- Proven ability to market and sell in the broadest sense, I.e. client segmentation, identification of the appropriate products per client type and preparation and implementation of sales tactics
- Ability to set up a sales distribution network in a new market and build an excellent reputation in a competitive market
- Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills to clearly articulate sophisticated concepts, ideas, and processes at a very senior level
- Flexible, dynamic, well-organised and willing to travel
- Experience of having lived and worked in France and/or Belgium and Luxembourg, ensuring a strong awareness of the key cultural and business mentality of the local market
- Master or equivalent degree
- Fluent in English and French
