We have an excellent opportunity in our Research (Data Services) department to join a close knit, ambitious team that is growing fast. This is an entry level role into data and market research, with training provided for all aspects of quantitative market research. You will be working closely with internal and external stakeholders, developing, and supporting accounts and running diverse projects (including for brand health and tracking, new product development, advertising testing and tracking, customer experience, PR etc.). You must have excellent communication skills, a positive outlook, and a willingness to learn; these are skillsets required to do well as a researcher at YouGov.

What will I be delivering?

  • You will represent YouGov in a professional and ethical manner
  • Work with teammates and other departments to manage core aspects of the end-to-end research process, including:
  • Research/ questionnaire design – translating business needs into research questions that uphold the principles of accuracy, clarity, and impartiality, and programming into our in-house scripting platforms
  • Survey scripting & checking – creating online versions of client’s questionnaires and employing a high level of attention to detail to ensure accurate data collection
  • Survey implementation & fieldwork monitoring - working to ensure timetables are followed and client deadlines are met
  • Data analysis & reporting – checking data deliverables are correct, working with in-house data visualization tools to produce analysis and display clients’ data in engaging and attractive ways
  • Be familiar with our Omnibus service and how to effectively coordinate single and multi-market projects
  • Multi-task - support on multiple projects at different stages simultaneously, whilst hitting deadlines and being the day-to-day point of contact for clients
  • Deal effectively with clients and colleagues through emails, telephone calls and face to face meetings in a clear, concise and polite manner
  • To manage own workload while demonstrating awareness of others, seeking help and training where appropriate and consulting with relevant parties throughout

Qualifications

  • A proactive and positive attitude to learning and helping others
  • Self-discipline and motivation
  • Excellent teamwork and problem-solving skills
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills
  • Market research experience will be highly regarded but not essential
  • Basic MS Office skills
  • Basic understanding of research and statistics
  • Excellent written, oral and communication skills
  • Completed tertiary qualification – Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • Professional or Native level of proficiency in English (written and spoken)
