General Summary:

The Regional Finance Manager will focus on the development of Vertex's in-market operations as it relates to finance, accounting and internal controls. The role is a key business partner to the Country Manager and works cross-functional with the local teams, regional leadership team and International Finance & Accounting.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide financial leadership to Vertex's in-market operations and drive partnership with local business leads through strong strategic and operational finance and accounting support.
  • Drive the region's monthly financial revenue forecast, operating expenses and financial reporting process.
  • Partner with local team in setting and controlling field incentive scheme
  • Perform sales and external data analytics to develop key insights on performance and future trends.
  • Provide demand forecast for countries in scope and partner with Supply Chain to optimize stock levels and improve forecast accuracy.
  • Support the long-range planning process and actively integrate the corporate planning activities with various business leaders.
  • Support finance and accounting transactional processes in countries such as record to report and source to settle, including forecasting, accruals and training to local teams.
  • Ensure rigorous and transparent application of group policies and procedures throughout the region and reinforce a robust internal control framework.
  • Provide financial skills to support dossier creation and pricing decisions and financially support reimbursement negotiations.
  • Partner with legal to ensure completeness, accuracy and monitoring of contractual arrangements.
  • Participate in global projects representing local needs.
  • Knowledge and Skills:

  • Good understanding of financial valuation techniques as well as experience evaluating alternative investment opportunities and business strategies, simulation and scenario analyses.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically, identify key issues and value drivers, and translate strategic insights into an appropriate analytic framework.
  • A track record of proactively identifying problems and gaining consensus on potential solutions..
  • Good facilitation skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Advanced knowledge and proficiency of Microsoft Excel (including VBA Macros), Microsoft PowerPoint and financial planning and reporting systems (Hyperion, SAP BPC, OBIEE, MicroStrategy).
  • Fluency in English, additional language skills of markets supported strongly desired.
  • Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in a scientific or business discipline with an advanced degree in Business or Economics.
  • Typically requires 4 years of professional experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience in business partnering, finance, accounting, treasury, internal controls, procurement, supply chain and data analytics.
  • Flex Designation:

    Hybrid-Eligible Or On-Site Eligible

    Flex Eligibility Status:

    In this Hybrid-Eligible role, you can choose to be designated as: 
    1.    Hybrid: work remotely up to two days per week; or select
    2.    On-Site: work five days per week on-site with ad hoc flexibility.
