Hybrid role requiring 3 days onsite in Paddington, 2 days from home

General Summary:

The role of Regional Commercial Analytics Associate Director provides advisory and operational analytics business partnership to the regional & country teams within the International Commercial organization, acting as a trusted advisor to leaders, enabling the achievement of business strategies.

This role reports to the International Sr. Director of Global Insights Analytics & Commercial Operations (GIACO), with a dotted line into the Regional Vice President (RVP) of Northern Europe, Australia & Distributor Markets (NEAD) spanning across more than 50 markets. These are highly diverse established markets like Northern Europe and Australia to new markets across the distributors region.

The role is primarily responsible for providing expert guidance leveraging data and analytics, acting as a trusted advisor to the Regional and Country Leadership Team on strategic decision-making. This includes leading commercial capabilities change management within the region, for all in-line products and (future) product launches spanning across the expansion of our current CF portfolio as well as haematology.

This role will be focused on proactively shaping the strategy of region, providing leadership and expert guidance for continuous improvement of country execution and performance monitoring, being a trusted advisor to the NEAD RVP and lead Team to build insight and analytics driven teams, commercial capabilities and competitive mindsets for the future.
The role will be based in Vertex’s regional office in London and will work in close partnership with colleagues based in International HQ, regional and local teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proactively defines, builds and implements the Regional Analytics Roadmap, leveraging data and analytics to generate actionable insights to providing strategic decision support to the regional and country teams – ensuring investments in the right areas and course correction as needed.

  • Establishes strategies and tactics to enable the business to achieve the commercial goals, acting as a conduit for the region, sharing business needs of the countries and region with IHQ functions to develop common data, analytics, and market research initiatives for International.

  • Partner with the International GIACO team to align on common KPI’s to enable consistent tracking of performance and co-create common dashboards/analytics solutions to drive strategic decision-making; develop custom solutions for countries where necessary. Where required, pair common KPI’s with custom metrics aligned to market and geography differences.

  • Proactively lead the change management effort by building data and digital literacy within the NEAD region. Partner with country Analytics personnel to ensure that the local and regional teams across marketing, sales and market access are able to leverage data and analytics tools to drive excellence in execution.

  • Responsible for driving and shaping the data quality framework in partnership with the international team and ensure that data quality is held to high standards across the region to enable effective and efficient reporting; identify opportunities for data process improvement and act upon them.

  • Lead governance framework of the region including full ownership of Quarterly Business Reviews, shaping and facilitating the Agenda of the NEAD Leadership Team, providing strategic & operational insights to the NEAD RVP and working cross-functionally.

  • Active membership of GIACO and NEAD Leadership Teams, providing input on strategic priorities and execution of tactics.

  • Be a point contact for the region on International Commercial Capabilities initiatives, driving change management and tracking of capabilities adoption within the region.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, biotech, operations or related discipline with extensive years of experience.

Skills & Experience:

  • Ability to communicate and influence across all levels of the organization

  • Ability to anticipate opportunities and challenges and thus proactively supporting shaping strategy of the region while having a strong execution mindset

  • Change Agent – ability to drive and shape change management initiatives

  • Ability to manage complexity with increasing number of launches and new therapeutic areas – capability to distill essence

  • Prior commercial (or commercial excellence/Field Force Excellence) experience is a must.

  • Strong analytical mind-set: demonstrated analytical approach to understand the impact of the way data and reporting is interpreted and utilized for decision making.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment; focus on multi-tasking and self-prioritized workload.

  • Digital agility – good understanding of multi-channel marketing and market research a bonus.

  • Innovative and flexible approach – thrive to find solutions outside the box.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills - fluent in verbal and written English.

  • Able to develop rapport and credibility with key stakeholders including senior leadership in INTL and comfortable leading without authority across functions and geographies.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage complex projects that require collaboration across functional and geographic areas.
