R&D Intern (Derry, New Hampshire)
Huntsman is hiring for our 2025 Summer Internship Program in the discipline of Research and Development. Our summer intern program is tailored to individuals who are currently enrolled full-time students at an accredited four-year college or university. The internship runs from May to August - dependent on the school calendar. The goal of the Huntsman Intern Program is to provide a structured program that will equip interns with the skills and experience to help prepare for a successful career. The internship program will allow interns to apply knowledge learned in school to a real-world manufacturing or R&D setting, and gain insight into the operation of a multinational chemical company. The selected candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our research and development efforts, primarily focusing on development and testing of new TPU formulation development.
As an R&D Intern you will:
- Work with R&D scientist in TPU formulation development and conduct literature review on targeted applications/market.
- Operate laboratory polymer testing equipment that support new product development and technical service objectives.
- Collect and summarize data to establish technical documentation.
- Maintain and promote a safe work environment by complying with all site safety policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Pursuing a degree in Chemistry, Chemical/Plastics Engineering, Material Science discipline or related engineering field.
- Minimum GPA of 3.0
- Completed junior year
- Experience with experimental design, data collection, and analysis.
- Detail oriented.
- Proficiency in literature review and research methodologies.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Enthusiasm for research and development.
- Preferred but no required : Experienced in polymer testing equipment: Instron, DSC, DMA, TMA, FTIR, Capillary Rheometer, Colorimeter, DIN Abrasion, QUV and Xenon Weatherometer
