Job Description
POSITION PURPOSE
The primary responsibility of this position is to manage the booking and execution of rail transport within CHEP Canada’s transportation network.
MAJOR / KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Plan and distribute rail allocation between major rail transport providers to take advantage of pricing and capacity.
• Utilize Customer carrier where feasible taking advantage of lower priced alternative.
• Optimize FMA utilization to 100% usage.
• Direct ship A and B stock to Plants in Central limiting diversion and delays.
• Execute and schedule rail deliveries 48 hours in advance to prevent dwelling at rail ramp.
• Manage Rail Diversion and execute deliveries completing GI and GR within 48 hours of deliveries.
• Manage in transit with no aging beyond 30 days of transit.
• Work with Scheduling Coordinator and Inventory Planning to comply with Plant Schedule to prevent overbooking and wait times.
• Follow up and track rail trailer dwell at customer drop locations reducing delays and detention beyond 48 hours.
• Weekly STOs (scheduling) and Ad hoc STOs (scheduling) as necessary to optimize rail moves
• Tender Loads utilizing TMS system
• Validate and Approve accessorial charges relating to rail deliveries and reconcile outstanding payments.
• Backup to the Transportation Coordinator

QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s Degree in related field or 2+ years of relevant experience
EXPERIENCE
• 3-years’ experience in logistics or transportation.
• Experience working with TMS specific to routing, tendering, analytics, reporting and maintaining rate tables.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
• Knowledge of freight rate composition along with economic and competitive factors used by carriers to price freight.
• Regional Geographical Expertise of major Canadian Provinces with expert understanding of mileage / distance as it relates to transit times to and from origin / destination.
• Industry Expertise - Transportation industry knowledge, including key terminology; general knowledge of primary retail and manufacturing industries.
• Problem solving and decision-making skills with the ability to work in a team environment.
• Strong Microsoft office skills required (PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)

- Travailler avec le coordonnateur de la planification et la planification des stocks pour se conformer au calendrier de l'usine afin d'éviter les surréservations et les temps d'attente.
- Suivez et suivez le séjour des remorques ferroviaires sur les lieux de dépôt des clients, réduisant ainsi les retards et la détention au-delà de 48 heures.
- STO hebdomadaires (planification) et STO ad hoc (planification) selon les besoins pour optimiser les déplacements ferroviaires
- Charges d'appel d'offres utilisant le système TMS
- Valider et approuver les frais accessoires liés aux livraisons ferroviaires et rapprocher les paiements en souffrance.
- Substitut au coordonnateur du transport
Qualifications
- Baccalauréat dans un domaine pertinent ou 3 ans et plus d'expérience pertinente
Expérience
- 3 ans d'expérience en logistique ou transport.
- Expérience de travail avec TMS spécifique au routage, aux appels d'offres, à l'analyse, aux rapports et à la maintenance des tables de tarifs
