Quality Manager - Blue Ash, OH

To do so, the Quality Manager must demonstrate an ability to lead a team to analyze performance metrics, identify areas for improvement, and drive their implementation and achievement of performance targets.
You will partner closely with Operations leader and employees to drive exceptional quality performance to our customers. This will be done through the development and refinement of our quality standards, processes, and through problem solving throughout the manufacturing process. This role will require strong leadership, change management, influencing, and problem solving skills.
The Quality Manager is responsible for driving improvements to existing products and processes as well as new product development within the key systems commercial product lines. The Quality Manager will collaborate with Product Management to develop product road maps, establish project priorities, and guide direct reports in the timely completion of these projects. The Quality Manager has the overall technical responsibilities for the quality of the products as it relates to these lines.
What You Will Do:
- Manage a team of 6 quality engineers.
- Supervisory responsibilities: staffing, employee development, succession planning, prioritizing, delegating and monitoring work, goal setting, performance reviews and salary administration.
- Drive consistent improvement to key metrics like Cost of Quality and Issue for Orders
- Monitors projects, prepares budgets, controls spending, and prepares progress reports and presentations for management.
- Ensures urgent customer and plant issues with product quality are tracked and resolved in a timely manner.
- Ensure regulatory compliance issues with product quality are tracked, prioritized, planned and implemented in a timely manner.
- Continuous improvement / LEAN - analyze prior year product launch issues and execute specific activities/initiatives to improve launch quality & reliability.
- Execute NPD projects according to Phase 2 exit commitment (budget, time, target cost and quality).
- Utilize EPM 2010 & MS Project Pro for project management. All active projects to have detailed schedules loaded. Baseline will be created at P2 Exit and the on-time milestone completion will be measured against it. Ensure all engineers have adequate training/competency to create & manage a schedule.
- Utilize EPM 2010 & MS Project Pro for resource management. Manages & Leads to ensure that all resources are allocated against active projects and this information is maintained at bi-weekly.
- Drive VA/VE activities to support Materials Productivity Target. Drive 120% pipeline for VA/VE through workshops and other idea generation methods. Align with Product Mgmt. to allocate resources for scoping of top ideas.
What You Will Need To Succeed:
- 7-10 years of experience leading Quality, Manufacturing Operations or Engineering organizations
- Education: Bachelor of Science – Engineering Degrees preferred
- Continuous Improvement: Lean experience is highly desirable
