Job Summary
The candidate for this position will administer Quality Systems to improve internal and external quality for the Warren, Michigan site.
Key Responsibilities
The Quality Assurance Supervisor must have a strong knowledge of Quality fundamentals and will perform one or more of the following tasks:
- Assist in the administration of the AS9100 QMS system across the organization
- Participate in customer audits and the annual AS9100 surveillance / certification audit
- Lead the close-out of NC’s assigned from audits by working with process owners
- Supervise Quality Technician I / II level associates (Salary)
- Supervise unionized associates (Hourly)
- Lead the Internal Audit program
- Lead development of APQP procedures to support new project requirements
- Audit procedures and work instruction documents with subject matter experts
- Revise procedures, work instructions, forms, and other Quality documentation
- Navigate Aerospace customer portals / websites
- Create inspection plans for machined components
- Perform measurement system analysis
- Perform secondary visual inspection and re-measurement of components
- Become approved Designated Quality Release (DQR) agent for various customers
- Work with QE and ME controlling and dispositioning non-conforming product
- Participate in daily Gemba or Go-and-See production meetings
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of experience in Quality / Inspection leadership roles
- 3+ years of experience working under a formal Quality Management System (AS9100, ISO, TS, etc.)
- Associates degree in Engineering related discipline preferred
- Familiarity with metalworking or fabrication experience preferred
- Must be able to read and work to Engineering drawings and technical Work Instructions
- Must have experience with and knowledge of basic hand tools such as micrometers, calipers, height gages, and other mechanical measurement devices
