Role overview:
We are looking for a highly skilled and strategic QA Manager to lead and drive the quality assurance efforts for Planet Hospitality engineering team. This role requires a unique blend of leadership, strategic thinking, and hands-on expertise in test automation and quality assurance. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in crafting and executing a comprehensive test strategy for multiple products and platforms while upskilling the team and ensuring the highest standards of quality.
What you will do:

Lead, mentor, and manage a team of on-shore and off-shore QA engineers, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.

Lead a horizontal QA team that serves development teams owning multiple products while having QA specialists embedded within each team, ensuring alignment and consistency across all quality initiatives.

Build out a common framework and vocabulary for all things test automation, driving consistency and efficiency across teams.

Develop and execute a strategic test automation roadmap to improve efficiency, coverage, and reliability.

Design, implement, and maintain scalable test automation frameworks for API testing, integration tests, functional testing, and UI testing using tools like Postman, Cypress, Playwright, JMeter, K6, and other modern frameworks.

Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and stakeholders to define quality goals and test strategies.

Take ownership of all QA activities, ensuring accountability and high standards of quality throughout the development lifecycle.

Oversee and actively participate in test automation efforts, including writing, reviewing, and maintaining test scripts.

Drive the integration of automated tests into CI/CD pipelines for continuous testing.

Be responsible for release validation and providing the final green light for production releases, ensuring a high-quality customer experience.

Champion best practices for QA processes, methodologies, and documentation.

Provide regular reports on QA activities, metrics, and overall product quality.
Who you are:

Proven experience as a QA Manager or Lead, with at least 5 years of experience as a QA Lead and 3 years of experience managing direct reports.

Experience working with on-shore and off-shore teams with diverse cultural backgrounds.

Hands-on expertise in test automation using tools like Postman, Cypress, Playwright, Selenium, JMeter, K6, or similar frameworks.

Strong strategic thinking with the ability to create and execute a comprehensive test automation strategy.

Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.

Technical proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, or Python for automation.

Deep understanding of software testing methodologies, automation strategies, and best practices.

Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, etc.) and version control systems like Git.

Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and drive change.

Strong sense of ownership and accountability for all things QA.

Experience with requirements engineering, including capturing, analyzing, and documenting software requirements.

Certification in ISTQB Foundation Level or higher is a plus.
