QA Engineer

You will work with QA engineering within IT Corporate at If Insurance. This role involves participating in various test activities across multiple projects within IT Corporate. IT Corporate is a Nordic IT unit comprising nearly 60 employees and consultants divided into three teams. Our responsibilities include systems and IT solutions for If's corporate units such as Accounting, Cash Management, Brand Marketing and Communication, Legal, and HR. Active participation in testing activities is a fundamental aspect of this position. We operate in an agile environment and work closely with our system suppliers, developers, and other stakeholders.  

We are currently seeking a QA engineer who can understand both IT and business needs. You should be a dedicated team player with the capability to independently drive improvements in routines and working methods. Additionally, you should be willing to share your knowledge and experience with colleagues. 

About the role  

We are seeking a skilled professional to develop and implement comprehensive test plans, ensuring thorough coverage and quality assurance across projects. This role involves performing manual testing to identify complex issues and collaborating closely with developers to troubleshoot, reproduce, and resolve bugs efficiently. Active participation in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning and retrospectives, is essential, as your insights will contribute to continuous improvement efforts. Additionally, you will be responsible for establishing and maintaining robust test automation frameworks to streamline processes and enhance overall productivity.

About the team   

IT Corporate consists of several agile teams consisting of 3 – 10 colleagues. In this role you will sometime join an agile team for improving and participating in the agile sprint. You will also work across the teams and make sure the QA principles and methods are up to date. Who are you? 

You are a skilled tester with a strong background in ensuring the quality and reliability of software systems. Your expertise in integration and test automation, combined with your collaborative and innovative approach, makes you a valuable team player. You thrive in dynamic environments, enjoy learning, and are driven to deliver excellence. 

You have:  

• A relevant education, such as a university or college degree, or equivalent skills. 

• At least three years of testing experience. 

• Experience in driving end-to-end integration testing, including APIs and file integrations. 

• Familiarity with test automation frameworks. 

• Good collaboration and communication skills  

• A proactive and self-motivated attitude  

• Great problem solving skills  

• A focus on quality and attention to detail  

Additionally, it is beneficial if you: 

• Have experience with load/performance and penetration testing. 

• Have used one or more testing and test automation tools. 

• Are familiar with the Microsoft Azure DevOps Test Management module.
