An exciting and challenging opportunity awaits you who want to contribute with your expertise, energy and creativity as we are looking for a Prototyping Developer to our R&D Innovation Enabler Centre (INEC).
INEC is a test facility that is easily accessible located close to Mölndal Business Centre, in Mölnlycke, and we provide test capacity across various technologies. We are a fundamental support in iterative early development, contributing to successful launches. We work in close co-operation with our stakeholders within R&D, Technology and external material and machine suppliers. At INEC we always strive to be agile and flexible, and we provide a creative environment for practical experiments and workshops.
About the role
As a Prototyping Developer you will work in a creative yet practical environment, enabling the making of prototype products. You are key in all stages of Product Development, from the small-scale initial testing to leading test runs of big series of products that can be intended for consumer tests or even pilot launches.
You will participate and lead test runs, rebuild and run the rigs. You are open for new technologies to enable innovations, and you will constantly build more knowledge and explore opportunities by initial testing of e.g. new and altered materials, embossing, printing etc. You are comfortable in maintaining order and structure.
What you will do
You will use all your leadership skills, curiosity, creativity, and process knowledge in our prototyping environment. You are comfortable in designing new, and occasionally unknown technologies. You will also make use of planning and test leading skills when designing tests on the current test rigs, by matching the incoming test briefs. You will take on and lead test runs, rebuild and run the rigs.
Main tasks
- Properly prepare, plan and perform rig tests in an excellent manner, always with Design for Manufacturability in mind.
- Ensures efficiency by providing the business (i.e. internal customers) with appropriate prototyping knowledge to meet the business requirements.
- Selects, develops and design the right technology for the intended use in the test.
- Develop and design new applications when needed. (AutoCad Inventor)
- Ensure that resources are in place to meet the product innovation brief (test request). If any process limitations, clearly communicate alternative solutions to stakeholders to execute the brief.
- Effectively communicate the prototyping learnings to ensure full and effective applicability of results for further innovation industrialization.
- Experiment with processes to provide a good technology solution for the test needs.
- Provide feedback on potential product benefits, process limitations and propose improvements.
- Actively search and embrace new technologies within prototyping processes.
- Secure and maintain excellent co-operation with external machine suppliers, sub-contractors and material suppliers when needed.

To be successful in this role you need to be a communicative team-player who operates with a positive and pragmatic can-do attitude. You need to be eager to learn about technologies within our field.
You have:
- Process knowledge from working within Personal Care or Hygiene Industry
- Practical Mechanical experience
- Profound knowledge in AutoCad Inventor
- Fluent in Swedish and English
- Technical Education, preferably within the mechanical field
- Background within R&D or Technology is an advantage
- Project Management skills or experience in leading test runs is an advantage
