Project Manager

About the Job: 

As Project Manager in Qt Professional Services team, you will own projects and customer communication in project related topics. Projects can vary from short workshops to long term strategic partnering.

You will:

• Collecting and understanding customer needs from both technical and business point of view and developing Qt Professional Services proposal in technical/business perspective for customers, including technical solutions/approaches, project schedule, price, resource plan and quality assurance plan etc.
• Capable of creating a project plan for large scale customer projects
• Responsible for project resource allocation, budget planning and monitoring
• Creating Statement of Work (SoW) and Service Agreement (SA)for new service opportunities by collaboration with Professional Services team and Sales team.
• Able to communicate professionally and independently with customers and partners
• Plans and leads large scale customer projects from the start until project closing
• Collaborates and motivates teams across the company and interacts with people at all levels of the organization
• Responsible for regular status reporting and revenue forecasting for defined projects
• Managing projects from planning to invoicing and act as daily contact to both project team members and customers
• Provides process improvement recommendations that are based on lessons learned, best practices and industry standards
• Managing our partners/subcontractors to keep up to date with resourcing situation, cost, issues and risks.
• As our customers are international, your work is not limited to local projects in Japan and may require domestic/overseas travels

About You: 

The requirements should be sorted by their importance and the tone of importance:

• Proven track record in managing complex software projects in international working environments for +3 years
• Good knowledge about different software development tools and models
• Good understanding about software development on realtime, embedded and desktop environment
• Good understanding of various industries such like automotive, defense, consumer electronics, automation etc.
• Software design and development knowledges and experiences to catch technical requirements/issues from project team and/or customers
• Good understanding and track record of various project management tools and methodologies
• Ability to analyze requirements, benefits, values and issues
• Good presentation and communication skills in English and Japanese
• Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Positive, pro-active and independent working style

Beneficial skills: 

• Experience on software services and consultancy business
• Good understanding of Qt and related technologies
• Project management certificate such like PMP, Pompy or Scrum Master etc
• Pragmatic way of working, knowhow to slice the SW development work to executable pieces
