Holtec International and its subsidiary companies are designing an unfailingly safe and secure source of clean energy using nuclear fission, called the SMR-300 small modular reactor. The position is offered by SMR LLC as a member of the Holtec International family, a global turnkey supplier of equipment and systems for nuclear, solar, geothermal, and fossil power generation sectors of the energy industry.
The Project Manager will manage delivery of engineering deliverables to progress SMR plant design according to the project plan, meet licensing goals, support resolution of emergent project and technical issues, and manage input definition for design partners and subcontractors designing plant systems, structures, and components. The Project Manager will manage work, processes, and practices across multiple disciplines (Electrical, Civil, Mechanical, Process/Systems, etc.) and partners to facilitate efficient delivery of the expanding scope defined in an integrated project schedule. The Project Manager will be a member of the balance of plant design team comprised of project Engineers, project managers, adjuncts, project staff, and design staff.
Specific Areas of Responsibility:
- Manage SMR-300 programs (ex. risk, quality assurance, document configuration control, configuration control, qualifications, project schedule, training, staffing).
- Coordinate with Project Engineers to resolve technical items with Stakeholders, Project Partners or Vendors.
- Assist technical leadership in executing the project, including ensuring alignment of work plans to project objectives, forecasting and prioritization of upcoming work, and assessment of progress.
- Tracking and executing approval of subcontractor deliverables
- Development of purchase orders, change orders, and contract management
- Lead and execute key Project initiatives as a member of the multinational team, including developing associated documentation and/or procedures
- Provide mentoring to other Project team members
- Review and provide critical comments and recommendations on vendor related products
- Gain an understanding of the SMR-300 concept design, its safety features and design functions of the plant’s Systems, Structures, and Components (SSC).
- Interact with team members from other disciplines and vendors
- Prepare presentations and review department deliverables
- Support organization and tracking of engineering and licensing documentation
- Support and resolve non-technical logistics for permanent staff and contractors integrating with Holtec software

Minimum Requirements:

Preferred Qualifications:
- Degree in Nuclear Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or closely related field of engineering
- 5+ years experience in commercial nuclear or naval nuclear design and/or operation
- Power plant construction project management, testing, and commissioning experience
- Project Management Professional (PMP)
- Experience assessing multidisciplinary engineering work packages
