This Project Manager role in the Detroit Metropolitan area may be involved in all phases of construction projects, including procurement documents, contract specifications, construction plans, review of construction documents, schedule control, cost control, and change orders. The prospective candidate is expected to interact daily with various stakeholders such as owners, designers, contractors, and suppliers influencing the project towards efficient execution.

Position Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or related field required.
  • Experience in the water/wastewater industry is strongly preferred.
  • 5-10 years’ experience in the construction industry required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Experience in collaborating on project issues and working independently with minimal direction.
  • Experience with reviewing and writing construction specifications required.
  • Experience with the development of construction procurement documents required.
  • Hands-on scheduling experience with Oracle Primavera P6 preferred.
  • Experience with presenting work product and facilitating work sessions required.
  • Prior experience with construction submittals and RFI processes a plus.

Additional Requirements

 

Physical: Standing or sitting for long periods; must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times and spend extended hours in front of a computer screen.

 

Cognitive: Problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills; computer and software skills; and ability to read and interpret text online or in printed form.
