Project Finance (PF) is an investment desk focused on lending to asset owners in its core industries with a particular focus on the energy transition. PF distributes some of the risk it underwrites but also has a hold book of senior debt positions. PF is an integral part of the Trade Finance and Lending (TFL) platform within the Corporate Bank.
You will interact closely with Structuring, Syndication and Coverage teams. You will focus on project financing in the infrastructure, energy and renewable sectors with a fundamentals-based background. You will also focus on capital requirements with these sectors and developing views where to deploy originating resources based upon projected capital demands.

Your key responsibilities
- Manage the origination of a pipeline of renewable/infrastructure finance with the Corporate Bank’s core clients (corporates, financial sponsors)
- Undertake and manage necessary due diligence, financial modeling, risk analysis and mitigation in structuring of loans and taking the deal through the Bank’s Credit Risk process. Manage a deal team providing leadership and direction
- Drive the internal approvals process including interface with credit, integrity, legal and other teams as well as regional and senior management
- Strong understanding of the Bank’s Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) targets and how these transactions fit into those targets
- Monitor deals throughout deal lifetime and contribute to or manage negotiations about amendment requests
- Coach/ mentor other members of the team
Your skills and experience
- Previous relevant Project Finance experience in financing of private sector infrastructure (particularly project financing or public-private partnerships (PPPs) including hands-on experience in originating loans, guarantees transactions, managing due diligence, financial modeling, mitigating credit and other risks, negotiating term sheets and finance documentation and related project (and corporate) finance activities
- Specific and relevant working experience in Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA) region
- Longstanding experience in the banking industry (ideally in structured/ corporate finance)
- Solid background/understanding in capital markets, accounting, financial modelling and cash-flow analysis
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to communicate effectively to management. Other European languages (French, German, Spanish, Italian) will be perceived positively due to origination efforts in these countries
- Tenacity, resilience, and attitude for hard work. Ability to travel sometimes at short notice
