Overview of the role:

As Product Marketing Manager at Upshop, you will play a pivotal role in driving the success of Upshop's platform. You will be responsible for crafting compelling content to articulate the value of Upshop's solutions and build strategies to amplify product impact.  

You should have a strong understanding of product marketing principles, excellent writing skills, and a passion for driving product adoption and success. This role heavily relies on your ability to conduct market research, develop product narratives, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and support competitive intelligence initiative. This is a hybrid opportunity based out of our Austin office.

Responsibilities:

  • Craft use-cases, examples, landing pages, blogs, white papers and multiple forms of content that clearly articulates the value of the Upshop platform
  • Build an influencer strategy by solution suite to amplify product impact and capture a majority share of thought leadership; this is an initiative that aligns with our overall goals to own our audience and the drive towards owned media and owned experiences 
  • Support in the development and execution of positioning and messaging documents for new product launches
  • Conduct market research to understand customer needs, pain points, and buying behavior relevant to Upshop solution suites and products 
  • Create compelling product narrative to drive awareness, demand, adoption and retention 
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product, sales, customer success and solutions consulting teams to align on go-to-market plans 
  • Connect data points from industry trends, customer insights and Upshop solutions to craft to inform product marketing strategy and create insights documentation 
  • Support competitive intelligence program with creation of battlecards, feature comparison one pagers and product differentiator documents 

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in product marketing, B2B marketing, or a related field 
  • Ability to quickly learn the retail technology industry and target customer segments 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to articulate complex technical concepts and simplify for target audience 
  • Data-driven mindset to analyze launch impact 
  • Understanding of market research, competitive analysis, and buyer persona development 
  • Collaborative mindset to work cross-functionally with product, sales, and other teams 
  • Proficient in design and content creation using Canva and Figma
  • Skilled in video editing using Descript
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Demonstrates strong creativity, problem-solving, and collaboration abilities

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with CRM platforms such as HubSpot or Salesforce is a plus 
  • Experience within retail, preferably grocery and/or food & beverage 
  • Experience with inventory, supply chain, and retail operations
  • Experience with SaaS technology solutions
