Your Opportunity at ARC’TERYX:


As a Product Compliance Specialist 2, you develop and evolve processes & protocols that ensure Arc’teryx raw materials & finished goods meet global regulatory and safety standards and, that are compliant with our performance & sustainability declarations. The focus of this role is continuous improvement in the communication and execution of these requirements throughout the product lifecycle and within the organization.

 

This role is based out of our North Vancouver office and is open to hybrid remote work. Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada.

The Compliance team works cross-functionally to provide a strong connection between product creation and our supply chain. We bridge the gap between what we build at Arc’teryx and what we value. We embed product integrity & compliance into our processes and systems to ensure our products are globally compliant and are representative of company policies. This work is complex but critical for ensuring integrity & accountability and this role requires close collaboration with internal partners and external suppliers to ensure a robust end-to-end compliance program is in place that anticipates the future needs of the business.

If you were the Product Compliance Specialist 2 now, here are some of the core activities you would be doing:

  • Leading chemical compliance within the organization and throughout our supply chains across all finished good categories, and all raw materials including prints and trims.
  • Defining and implementing comprehensive brand accountability as the subject matter expert. Developing comprehensive strategies and assessments to strengthen our chemical management program and tracking progress against these.
  • Managing a systematic, comprehensive seasonal product compliance review throughout the development cycle to identify risks within your scope and ensure they are addressed prior to commercialisation.
  • Managing reported issues including root cause analysis and resolution.
  • Establishing best practice for processes & protocol within your scope. Reviewing functionality of systems & tools to support data integrity and efficacy.
  • Providing insight and training to internal and external partners where required in chemical compliance topics and protocols.
  • Identifying guidelines to reduce brand risks associated with regulation in emerging product categories and regions we plan to be operating in within your scope. Manage and mitigate appropriately.
  • Upholding Fair Labor Association’s Workplace Code of Conduct and Principles of Fair Labor and Responsible Sourcing throughout the Arc’teryx supply chain;
  • By working closely with the Amer Sports Global Sourcing Vendor Sustainability team on quarterly business reviews and training/capacity building (at least annually).
  • By adhering to negotiated lead times and balanced annual capacities to expedite responsible purchasing practices as outlined in the Responsible Sourcing Policy.

Here are some of the things you could be working on in the future:

  • Establishing best practice for chemical compliance in footwear. Review existing framework and evolve in line with PLM transition to Centric.
  • Partner with Amer to drive adoption of MRSL in 2025.
  • Develop KPIs to accurately reflect status and risk within chemical compliance program.
  • PFAS reporting – Canada & US

Are you our next Product Compliance Specialist 2?

  • You have a minimum of 5+ years relevant industry experience in consumer goods setting – working with materials, components and supply chain procurement, compliance, or sustainability. A degree in Product Development or Design or related fields is a plus.
  • You have experience in project management and demonstrate excellent time management, organizational skills and agility in developing process and protocol.
  • You can think strategically and balance the needs of multiple cross functional teams.
  • You are an effective communicator and highly collaborative with demonstrated effectiveness at building strong partnerships.
  • You are proactive in identifying the root cause of issues, seeking the best solutions with an unwavering commitment to do what is right.
  • You are committed to not only identifying solutions but driving change.
