Job Description:

The Procurement Specialist III is responsible for executing purchases (indirectly) of assets and accessories for global locations, ensuring on-time delivery, reducing lead times, and maintaining a strong customer focus. This role requires a seasoned, experienced professional with a comprehensive understanding of procurement and sourcing processes. The specialist will work on diverse and complex issues, leveraging creative problem-solving to improve efficiency and accuracy in procurement workflows. While receiving minimal day-to-day instruction, the individual will be expected to take ownership of procurement tasks and navigate broad-scope challenges with general guidance on new assignments.

Key Responsibilities

● Seeks appropriate approvals and escalation (as necessary) in accordance with company policy and negotiated terms and conditions.

● Continuously audit data integrity for accuracy within the ERP system to include min/max levels, PO, cost, quantity on order, and lead times, and any other material information needed to be able to purchase each item and manage inventory effectively.

● Ensure timely order processing, delivery, and shipment of materials to meet the schedule requirements while preventing overstock situations.

● Liaise closely with internal business partners to ensure requirements are understood and met in a timely manner.

● Establish, maintain, and develop good business relationships with global teams and stakeholders while supporting company values and standards.

● Collaborate, identify gaps, and make recommendations for continuous improvement in process, system, reporting, order accuracy, and efficiency, while providing supporting data and reports.

● Engage in analysis of beta testing and implementations of order process improvements with clear metrics of success, updating process documentation accordingly.

● Take responsibility for developing/refining training materials.

● Participate in monitoring and evaluation of vendor performance and supply chain while participating in improvement activities that will optimize the supply of materials efficiently.

● Collaborate with the company’s global teams to ensure business requirements are met and all issues resolved in a timely manner.

● Utilize comprehensive understanding of business requirements, supply chain, manufacturing processes, and external factors to optimize ordering and inventory management.

● Address ongoing challenges in sourcing and procurement, particularly tracking licenses and ensuring budget alignment within systems.

● Become an expert in the company’s procurement systems to effectively manage budget tracking, point of contact alignment, and synchronization.

● Streamline and error-proof procurement workflows to reduce delays and errors in budget mapping and procurement-to-budget workflow.

● Provide procurement support for lab operations, ensuring efficient purchasing processes for tems needed by the QOE pod and other lab teams.

● Manage front-end procurement workflows, ensuring accurate and timely processing of procurement requests.

● Work closely with lab teams in MPK to provide hands-on procurement management, ensuring efficiency in purchases and reducing the workload on managers and engineers.

Required Skills and Qualifications

● Bachelor’s degree (B.S/B.A) from a four-year college or university and 5 to 8 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

● Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.

● Experience working with MRP systems, Internet, office/document software, and database query on multiple platforms.

● Deep understanding of spreadsheet/reporting manipulation, including pivot tables, functions (e.g., vlookup/trim/concatenate/etc.), and understanding of automation tools (e.g., macros).

● Experience with process improvement and cost savings in a corporate purchasing department.

● Ability to engage in clear communication with cross-functional global teams through presentations and documentation that get results.

● Ability to exhibit professionalism when collaborating with global teams and stakeholders.

● High energy and creative critical thinking partnered with a results-oriented attitude.

● Strong planning, organization, prioritization, and consistent execution skills in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

● Strong sourcing, procurement, and logistics background.

● Experience working across global procurement networks to ensure alignment with processes.

● Project coordination experience, particularly in procurement processes, ensuring budget accuracy, and supporting lab purchasing needs.

Required Skills & Qualifications

● Ability to develop and maintain excellent working relationships with all assigned levels with the vendor/customer and both within and outside the company.

● Must have the ability to perform office-related tasks which may include prolonged sitting or standing.

● Must have the ability to move from place to place within an office environment.

● Must be able to use a computer.

● Must have the ability to communicate effectively.

● Some positions may require occasional repetitive motion or movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.

● On-site presence required in MPK to support lab procurement operations, as

80% of the lab environment is in the Bay Area.

Salary Range

$32.88 - $51.92 USD (Hourly)

  • Please note that the salary information provided herein is base pay only (gross); it does not include other forms of compensation which may or may not apply to this specific position, namely, performance-based bonuses, benefits-related payments, or other general incentives - none of which are guaranteed, may be subject to specific eligibility requirements, and are wholly within the discretion of Astreya to remit.
  • Further, the salary information noted above is a range that consists of a minimum and maximum rate of pay for this specific position. Where an applicant or employee is placed on this range will depend and be contingent on objective, documented work-related considerations like education, experience, certifications, licenses, preferred qualifications, among other factors.
