Job Title

Process EngineerAs the Process Engineer, you will be responsible for collaborating with engineering, manufacturing and other staff within a plant to understand and increase manufacturing capabilities, increase yields, improve process flow, increase productivity and maximize work force utilization. Your assigned work will align with Global Engineering strategy and project portfolio, which may include technology transfers and increasing the efficiency of existing capital equipment.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Use structured problem-solving methodologies to resolve complex issues involving critical manufacturing processes and ensure process controls are implemented to reduce future variation.
  • Under moderate supervision, utilizes understanding of ceramics manufacturing techniques and associated equipment design/function to support the improvement of processes and development of new manufacturing processes to meet customer requirements.
  • Executes technology transfers to meet production requirements.
  • Responsible for mid-size projects including training and guiding plant engineering and manufacturing team members.
  • Collaborates with location manufacturing management to improve efficiencies, coordinating with maintenance / repair services and cross functional engineering teams to establish effective processes and procedures delivering results.
  • Responsible for process improvements that deliver yield improvements at their location.
  • Increase process efficiency by supporting and actively participating in implementing/applying Lean, TOC, Six Sigma or other TQM process improvement methodologies.

Job Requirements:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related engineering discipline

Experience:

  • 3-5 years of Engineering experience (preferably process engineering) required.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing/applying Lean, TOC, Six Sigma or other TQM process improvement methodologies in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in an automated engineering environment.
  • Experience commissioning equipment for large capital projects.

Functional/Technical Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Ceramics, Chemical, or Mechanical/Manufacturing engineering background preferred.
  • Knowledge of Heat transfer, Fluid Dynamics, and Mass transfer.
  • Strong Project Management Skills.
  • Ability to perform detail-oriented analysis utilizing very high math skills and very effective communication skills.
  • Software knowledge: MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Minitab are required. Access, AutoCAD, SolidWorks and PowerBi are a plus.
  • Familiarity with programmable logic controllers or loop controllers is a plus.
  • Familiarity with a programming language for data science is a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to work with a diverse variety of people from different cultures and backgrounds
