We are looking for Directory Services (EntraID/Active Directory (AD) technology) SMEs, with relevant experience, capable of delivering enterprise solutions. Technically, the ideal candidate will be comfortable working using Agile methodologies in a Scrum/SAFe environment, and have proven experience designing, building and managing modern Directory capabilities for Cloud and self hosted applications.
Principal Engineer Specialized Access
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the design, implementation, and management of GSK’s Directory services. This role is critical in ensuring the reliability, security, and efficiency of our AD environment, which supports authentication, authorization, and policy enforcement across the enterprise.
- Supporting the product owner and architects in driving improvement in the directory servicers and broader IAM domain.
- Ensure that GSK's regulatory requirements are met and continuously evolving and improving the underlying processes, strategies, and roadmap of capabilities and offerings by adopting new technologies where beneficial (such as automation, AI/ML, analytics, etc.)
- Ensure the security of directory services by implementing best practices and monitoring for vulnerabilities.
- Identify and resolve issues related to directory services and provide advanced SME support for authentication and authorization issues.
- Work with IT teams and stakeholders to understand requirements and provide technical support.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of configurations, processes, procedures and protocols. Ensure regular review and knowledge transfer amongst the team.
- Conduct regular audits of directory services to ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
Why you?
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in identity and access management, with a focus on Azure Entra ID (Azure Active Directory).
- Proven experience in implementing and managing Azure Entra ID solutions. Experience with CI/CD, DevSecOps and IaC.
- Experience with hybrid identity solutions, including Azure AD Connect and on-premises Active Directory integration
- Demonstrable experience of seamless integration of directory services with enterprise systems.
- Experience in directory services configuration, management, and troubleshooting. Familiarity with related technologies such as Microsoft Graph API, LDAP, SAML, OpenID Connect, OAuth2, PKI, Group Policy and Desired State Configuration is essential
- Experience in the areas of high availability, disaster recovery and/or scalability of directory services
- Experience with vulnerability and attack path detection technologies desired A background in penetration testing, threat mitigation, security incident response or secure application development is beneficial to this role.
- Proficiency in scripting languages like PowerShell to automate administrative tasks and improve efficiency. Automation of manual repeatable tasks, and continuous process improvement experience.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Work across the IAM product tower, engineering teams, and security teams to align directory services to current and future organizational needs
- Stay current with industry trends and advancements in directory technologies. Propose and implement improvements to enhance the performance, reliability, and security of the directory environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience of building and deploying web applications through CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps.
- Knowledge of deploying, managing and monitoring applications in a Cloud environment such as Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud.
- Previously worked in a central IT team within a regulated environment such as the Pharmaceutical or Financial services
- Certifications: Relevant certifications from Microsoft and/or CISSP or equivalent
