PR and Marketing Communications Manager
12 months FTC
Location: Edinburgh (typically 3 days in the office per week, 2 from home)

As our PR and Marketing Communications Manager, you will have two key elements to your role. The first, and majority share of the role, is the execution of PR communications activity for AAM UK, with the second supporting, when required, our Internal Communications and wider Marketing agenda.
This is a role where you will take a proactive and collaborative approach managing all UK PR communications including:
- Supporting the UK Marketing team in the delivery of the Aegon AM UK PR and Marketing plan to advance our corporate objectives and commercial business objectives.
- Ongoing collaboration with senior stakeholders and commercial teams to develop and manage the PR plan and ensure that marketing activities are coordinated with sales and investment teams.
- Taking the lead in the management of our external UK PR agency.
- Support our marketing team to deliver on marketing activities, including marketing literature, email communications and campaign delivery.
- Support the planning, delivery and evaluate the effectiveness of key corporate and marketing events/campaigns.
- Generate content ideas: writing, editing and pitching content including corporate press releases, comments and other content as required.
- Build relationships with journalists from National, Wholesale, Institutional and Broadcast media outlets.
- Select, manage and brief relevant spokespeople for press interviews.
- Responding to press queries, referring to key spokespeople and technical specialists where appropriate.
- Work closely with compliance, legal and risk departments to ensure all activity is accurate.
- Maintain appropriate linkages with Aegon UK, Aegon AM Global and Aegon Group external comms teams.
- Maintain press evaluation systems.
- Engage widely across the business to ensure communications for internal and external audiences reflect our corporate message and investment strategy.
- Liaise with Aegon AM Global and Aegon Group Communications colleagues to implement internal communications for UK Business. This will involve seeking input and engagement from across the business.
We’d love to hear from you if you have:
- Experience of corporate PR/marketing, in similar financial services environment.
- Experience in investment writing and/or internal communications activity.
- Excellent writing skills and understanding of news values.
- An understanding of/interest in the investment industry and current affairs.
- Proven experience in building and maintaining relationships across a variety of disciplines.
- Are well organised with ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving and writing skills, with sound creative judgement.
- Excellent attention to detail and a relentless appetite to continually improve standards.
- The ability to apply strategic and creative thinking to inform approach.
- Good MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel skills.
- Awareness of the regulatory framework and its impact on a PR and Communications Strategy
