PowerBuilder Developer

We are currently seeking a PowerBuilder Developer to join our team!

Location:

• Sao Paulo, Brazil
• Hybrid, 3 days a week in office

Responsibilities: 

• Develop and maintain applications using PowerBuilder and Java;
• Develop, maintain, and enhance applications in PowerBuilder;
• Troubleshoot and debug PowerBuilder applications;
• Analyze, design, and implement new features in existing systems;
• Integrate systems using APIs and Web Services;
• Optimize and refactor code to improve performance and maintainability;
• Collaborate with business teams and other technology areas to define requirements and solutions;
• Participate in code reviews and promote best development practices;
• Implement and maintain security and compliance standards in applications;
• Provide support and resolve incidents in production environments.

Qualifications: 

• Strong experience in PowerBuilder development (recent versions);
• Proficiency in PowerBuilder IDE and PowerScript;
• Advanced experience with Java (Spring Boot, Hibernate, JPA);
• Extensive experience with SQL and relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server);
• Knowledge of relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL);
• Experience with PL/SQL for query creation and optimization;
• Experience in developing REST and SOAP APIs;
• Experience with version control systems (Git, Bitbucket, SVN);
• Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC);
• Ability to write unit tests and perform integration testing;
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
• Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration;
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban);
• Experience in the financial sector.

Nice to have: 

• Experience with legacy system migration;
• Experience with web-based PowerBuilder applications (PowerBuilder Web or .NET integration);
• Knowledge of other programming languages (Java, C#, .NET);
• Understanding of Cloud Computing (AWS, Azure, GCP);
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes;
• Experience in Agile development environments;
• Integration with third-party tools, components, or APIs;
• Industry-specific experience (finance, healthcare, manufacturing);
• Knowledge of UI/UX design principles;
• Performance tuning for PowerBuilder applications and queries;
• Familiarity with scripting languages (JavaScript, Python, Shell);
• Experience with test automation and DevOps.
