We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manager to oversee our Cloud Operations. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the health and stability of all our cloud applications. You will collaborate with various teams to implement and maintain secure, reliable, and efficient cloud infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
1. AWS Cloud Operations Management:
o Oversee the day-to-day operations of our cloud infrastructure.
o Ensure the health, stability, and performance of applications running across all of our AWS accounts.
o Oversee an on-call support team integral to the organization, responsible for retrieving private and sensitive data, and providing specialized AWS support.
2. Implementation of AWS Well-Architected Framework:
o Apply the principles of the AWS Well-Architected Framework to design and maintain secure, high-performing, resilient, and efficient infrastructure.
3. Security and Zero-Trust Infrastructure:
o Implement and maintain a zero-trust security model to protect our cloud infrastructure.
o Ensure robust security measures, including identity and access management (IAM), encryption, and network security.
o Conduct regular security assessments and vulnerability scans.
4. Collaboration and Team Leadership:
o Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and operation of cloud services.
o Lead and mentor a team of Platform Engineers.
o Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
5. Cost Management and Optimization:
o Monitor and optimize cloud spending to ensure cost-effective use of AWS resources.
o Implement cost-saving measures and strategies without compromising performance or security.
o Generate financial reports on cloud expenditure and allocation.
6. Incident Management and Troubleshooting:
o Lead incident response efforts to quickly resolve any issues affecting cloud operations.
o Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
7. Process Documentation and Change Management:
o Document and define processes that the organization must follow around change management within AWS.
o Ensure all changes are managed in accordance with established procedures to minimize risk and ensure compliance.
Qualifications:
· 5+ years of experience in cloud operations, with a focus on AWS.
· Strong understanding of the AWS Well-Architected Framework and its application.
· Experience and understanding of AWS Organizations, AWS Backup, AMI Factory, NAT Gateways, WAF, CloudTrail, Lambda, S3, RDS, EKS, ECR, EC2.
· Experience with implementing zero-trust security models and best practices.
· Proven leadership and team management skills.
· Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
· Strong communication and collaboration skills.
· Experience with automation tools such as CloudFormation and CDK.
· Knowledge of containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
· Oversee an on-call operations team integral to the organization, responsible for retrieving private and sensitive data, and providing specialized AWS assistance.
Nice to have:
· Proven ability in managing and migrating self-hosted infrastructure (MS-SQL, MongoDB) to managed services (RDS, DocumentDB).
· Experience managing Windows applications (IIS).
· Skilled in overseeing hybrid (Windows/Linux) Kubernetes clusters.
· Proficiency with north-south traffic management (HAProxy, Istio Gateway, API Gateways).
