Job Summary
The Planner, Manufacturing is responsible for analyzing and responding to demand for products of a specific classification(s) of materials. This job evaluates demand planning forecasts, develops plans for review, and places monthly orders. The Planner, Manufacturing ensures timely and accurate delivery of products to warehouses and distribution centers for final transport to customers. This job requires frequent coordination with cross functional groups and teams to ensure effective planning and selection of products from international and domestic suppliers. The Planner, Manufacturing actively evaluates suppliers and identifies opportunities for efficiency improvements and cost reductions.

Purpose

Oversee Plant Net Requirement Attainment to ensure plants are building the correct products.  Develop countermeasures when metrics are not meeting targets. Conduct deep dives into areas where Service Level is below target and develop solutions to drive improvements. Recommend and implement planning and supply chain improvements aimed at improving financial and service level improvements. Drive global reduction of inventory within the portfolio proactively communicate service risk while maintaining strong coordination with other internal stakeholders. Identify Key Capacity Constraints within the portfolio, monitor them and provide advance notice to the business when the load will outpace the capacity.

Participation in the execution of Strategic projects and initiatives in support of Supply Planning improvements including system integrations. Work with all levels of Mfg. Plant Leadership, Global Demand Planning, Global Marketing Leaders, and OPEX Attend and participate in operations reviews at plant locations. Recommend and implement planning and supply chain improvements aimed at improving financial and service level improvements. Host weekly plant and/or external manufacturer meetings to align on challenges to ensure service level metrics are met or exceeded. Conduct Supply Reviews monthly per the S&OP cycle with plants/external manufacturers

Complete all necessary training as required to ensure compliance Share best practices through the supply planning organization. Identify opportunities for improvement with individual development plan.

Responsibilities

  • Determines and develops inventory orders based on the demand forecasting report.
  • Places monthly order after approval from manager ensuring alignment with the monthly order plan.
  • Tracks orders from origination to delivery to ensure timely and accurate delivery.
  • Assembles critical code reports to identify issues with potential forward impact on the distribution operations.
  • Investigates critical code report issues, determines route cause, develops a feasible solution and communicates the resolution to related parties.
  • Collaborates cross functionally with marketing on product conversions and related activities.
  • Identifies opportunities for process improvement and actively seeks solutions to identified inefficiencies.

Qualifications

  • 4-8 years of manufacturing planner experience
  • BA, BS or equivalent experience in related field. Advance Degree may be required
  • Advance English and Spanish
