Job Description
Applications management involves overseeing the lifecycle of software applications, including deployment, monitoring, maintenance, and optimization to ensure they meet business requirements and deliver value effectively.
The Peoplesoft Engineer will design, develop, and maintain Peoplesoft applications. This role will involve creating new features, customizing existing applications, and ensuring the optimal performance of Peoplesoft systems.
Responsibilities:
- Implement new functionalities required by the business.
- Fix defects identified in the environments.
- Functional testing of the defects/changes implemented.
- Perform investigation and analysis of defects and provide appropriate fixes promptly.
- Provide updates on the progress of the tasks.
- Work closely with Product, QA, release management, and peer development teams to help prioritize and resolve issues in a high-quality and timely manner.
- Work closely with DevOps and release management teams to support deployments.
- Write secure code that meets high performance and scalability needs.
- Write and maintain Peoplesoft PeopleCode, SQR, and other relevant programming languages.
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of Peoplesoft architecture and components.
- Proficiency in Peoplesoft PeopleCode, SQR, and other relevant programming languages.
- Experience in one or more relational databases: Oracle, MS SQL, MySQL, Postgres, etc.
- Experience in troubleshooting, supporting, and/or administering applications.
- Good understanding of the software design principles (refactoring, SOLID, design patterns)
- Good understanding of web applications and back-end systems functioning from end to end.
- Understanding of project lifecycle and operational experience: incident management, change management, release management.
- Well-developed analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
