JOB SUMMARY
The Outbound Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the outbound logistics operations, ensuring efficient and accurate order fulfillment. This role involves managing a team of warehouse staff, coordinating shipping activities, and optimizing processes to meet customer delivery expectations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervise, train, and mentor outbound warehouse staff, ensuring operations commitment to ship 98% of orders within SLA and 99.7% of orders out with zero quality issues.
- Oversee the picking, packing, and shipping processes to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment.
- Analyze workflow processes and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce errors.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the inventory team to ensure stock availability for outbound orders.
- Prepares bills of lading; checks items to be shipped against work orders to ascertain that quantities, destination, and routing are correct.
- Conduct regular quality checks on outgoing shipments to ensure compliance with company standards and customer requirements.
- Ensure that all transactions are recorded in warehouse management software (LISA).
- Manage shipping schedules, liaising with carriers and vendors to ensure timely and cost-effective transportation.
- Promote and enforce safety protocols and procedures in the outbound area to maintain a safe work environment.
- Prepare and maintain reports on outbound operations, including productivity metrics, shipping accuracy, and team performance.
- Work closely with other departments, including inbound receiving, customer service, and sales, to resolve issues and improve overall operations.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent; degree in logistics, business, or related field preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience in warehouse operations, with 1+ year(s) in a supervisory role, preferred.
- Proficient in warehouse management systems and Microsoft Office Suite; knowledge of shipping software is a plus.
- Strong leadership abilities with experience in team development and performance management.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse teams.
- Bilingual (Spanish), preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make decisions quickly and effectively.
