About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled and passionate individual to join Hastings Deering as Operator – Demonstrator, based out of our Acacia Ridge office. This is a permanent, full-time, Monday to Friday role.
Reporting to the Business Manager – Major Accounts, this role primarily exists to demonstrate and train internal and external stakeholders on how to use Caterpillar machinery as well as accurately report and evaluate machine performance. The successful candidate will service clients around the country which includes the Northern Territory, therefore willingness to travel and proof of vaccination is essential.
The key responsibilities of this role will include but not be limited to:
- Training of participants in structured learning experiences and compliance with Mine site and workplace, Health and Safety standards
- Train customer operators and participants in the safe and productive use of Caterpillar equipment
- Accurate evaluation of specific machine performance and identification of whether machine problems are operator or mechanically caused. In turn, reporting results to appropriate department in verbal and written form
- Facilitate a safe, positive and open learning experience for all learners protecting the Hastings Deering brand and reputation.
About You
You will bring the following skills and experience to the role:
- Minimum three years’ experience operating Caterpillar machinery
- Experience as a Trainer/Assessor considered highly advantageous
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
- Relevant current Occupational Licenses as required by mine sites
- Advanced understanding of Workplace Health & Safety
- Mechanical Trade Qualification will be desirable
- Flexibility to travel to our territories throughout Queensland and the Northern Territory is required
