Network Support Engineer
Job Description
We looking for a Network Engineer who will be responsible for enhancing and maintaining the company's network support. This position involves working closely with the IT team to ensure secure and efficient network operations, implement security policies, and provide technical support for network security issues.
Key Responsibilities:

Monitor LAN and WAN network using on-site monitoring appliances

Responding and troubleshooting network faults involving fibre optic, copper and wireless mediums

Liaise with network service providers regarding breakdowns and performance issues

Design and implement network architecture as per the client requirements which involves liaising with suppliers and service providers and also coordinating the on-site cabling team.

Monitor and administer client CCTV system consisting of IP and analog cameras and Windows Servers running Milestone VMS
-
Assist with client specific software administration which includes Stratodesk NoTouch software, Milestone VMS, Zscaler, Zoom, Palo Alto Cortex XDR, Microsoft Active Directory

Assist with handling overflow of first-line support calls which includes user administration and desktop incidents

Create and update documentation which relate to network design and configuration

Provide first line network assistance after hours on a rotating weekly schedule
Skills requirements:
-
Experience in supporting a 24-hour manufacturing environment
-
CCNA minimum +2 years' experience
-
Ubiquiti Unifi network device experience +1 years
-
HPE Aruba network device experience +2 years
-
Fortigate experience
-
Experience with Industrial Ethernet/IP systems advantageous (Rockwell, Allen-Bradley)

Wireshark analysis experience
-
Communication, Planning and organizing, problem-solving, dedication and Interpersonal skills
Education requirements:
-
CCNA Networking
-
2+ years experience in network security.
-
Strong understanding of networking protocols and security concepts.
-
Fortinet NSE certification preferred
-
3 - 4 years experience
Other requirements:
-
Proficiency in Networking, security, and infrastructure components.

Familiarity with hardware and software solutions used in security management
-
Excellent communication skills to interact with team members, stakeholders, and vendors.

Ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.

Analytical and problem-solving abilities to address infrastructure issues and challenges.

Ability to adapt to changing technology landscapes and evolving infrastructure needs.

Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and departments

National Certificate Level 4 (N4) / Grade 12 (Required)
