The role
The successful candidate will be part of the ANS migrations team, working alongside project management, support, and infrastructure teams to assist our customers in transitioning from physical to virtual platforms. You will manage the entire migration process, ensuring that we meet customer service expectations at each stage. Additionally, you will develop and implement migration plans that facilitate a smooth transition to our virtual cloud platform and provide technical network planning support to ensure everything runs smoothly.
What will I be doing?
- Work with the support teams to understand and map out the customers solution
- Support the build out simple migration plans in conjunction with the project managers and the customer
- Contribute to the rightsizing of migrated customer solutions
- Work with the support teams on developing complex migrations plans
- Perform prechecks, ACL and VPN assessments
- Perform set up of new customer environments in our VMWare cloud platform
- Assist with manual data transfers between solutions
- Assist with automated P2V migration using Veeam
- Conduct post migration QA testing
- Innovating and aiding in the development of a new migration service
- Developing your expertise in practical cloud transformation, VMware-based private cloud solutions and Network Technologies
What will I bring to the role?
- Experience working in a 2nd line network or security role
- A good understanding of configuring and supporting Cisco ASA
A good understanding of network concepts including:
- VPNs
- ACLs
- HSRP
- STP
- Strong technical troubleshooting and diagnostic expertise
- Ability to produce good quality documentation
- Exposure to VMware and NSX (NSX-T) would be advantageous
- Experience of network automation technologies would be advantageous
- Proven track record of providing excellent customer service to customers or excellent communication skills.
- Experience completing physical to virtual migrations
- Proven track record of providing excellent customer service with excellent communication skills.
- An appetite to learn and develop yourself professionally.
