Alice & Bob is developing the first universal, fault-tolerant quantum computer to solve the world’s hardest problems.
The quantum computer we envision building is based on a new kind of superconducting qubit: the Schrödinger cat qubit. In comparison to other superconducting platforms, cat qubits have the astonishing ability to implement quantum error correction autonomously!
We are at the forefront of the quantum race, competing with tech giants such as Google or IBM, and we are growing fast after securing €100 million of funding in 2025 to develop our unique technology.
Currently 100+ and counting, between physicists, PhD students, engineers and experienced business professionals, we are united to reach our ambitious goal. Are you a quantum pioneer? Join us on a mission to reshape the future!
Joining our applications team as a Quantum Algorithms Scientist, you will be responsible for charting the course toward practical applications of fault-tolerant quantum computing by optimizing algorithms for our specific architecture.
You will work on developing the earliest applications of fault-tolerant quantum computers: many body problems (condensed matter, chemistry, etc.). You will also focus on optimizing the fault-tolerant implementations for Alice & Bob's architecture, in collaboration with the quantum error correction team. As a scientific expert on our technology, you will contribute to scientific collaborations with academic and industry partners.
Responsibilities:
- Develop novel quantum algorithms.
- Optimize the implementation of quantum algorithms to our architecture, and challenge it.
- Work on the first unchallenged quantum advantage (as soon as Alice & Bob's hardware becomes available).
- Participate in scientific collaborations with academic and private partners.
- Perform literature reviews and syntheses to understand the potential of quantum computing for specific industries.
- Collaborate closely with our clients’ R&D experts to mature their quantum computing use cases.
- Partner with Alice & Bob’s clients and strategic partners to develop quantum algorithms tailored to their specific needs.
Requirements:
- A PhD or 3+ years research experience in quantum computing, condensed matter, quantum chemistry or nuclear physics. Demonstrated research track record.
- Strong experience with software design and best practices.
- Understanding of quantum computing and error correction.
