Lumentum is seeking a bright, motivated individual to contribute to the development of a variety of highly-innovative and market-leading high power single-mode and multi-mode semiconductor lasers for telecom, industrial and consumer applications.

Qualifications:

• Expertise in drafting mechanical drawings is required.
• Expertise in Computer Aided Design and Drafting Software (Solidworks preferred) is required.
• Experience in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing is required.
• Experience in creating bill of materials and assembly drawing is required.
• Experience in ECO and documentation is desirable.
• Experiences in Ansys APDL, Ansys Workbench, and other mechanical simulation software tools desirable.
• Education should hold BS degree or above in mechanical engineering.
• US citizenship or permanent residence preferred as it allows greater program flexibility.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work with R&D Engineers to develop new products from conception to production release.
• Create detailed piece part and assembly drawings, specify dimensions, materials, and procedures.
• Provide details on component descriptions and purchase accordingly.
• Submit and track purchase requisitions for R&D projects.
• Preform incoming inspection on received parts.
• Assemble and test prototype component, tooling and equipment.
• Perform thermal and stress simulation of chip level diode package.
• Document and ECO release of engineering reports, engineering drawings, bill of materials and equipment design specifications.
