What’s the role?
The Master Data Expert is responsible for overseeing the operational aspects of master data management within the organization. This role ensures the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of enterprise master data, particularly within SAP R/3 and S/4HANA systems. The Master Data Manager collaborates with various business units to develop data standards, governance policies, and to improve overall data quality. By integrating master data initiatives with the company's digital transformation goals, this role contributes significantly to operational efficiency and data-driven decision-making.

Here’s what you’ll do:

Support Master Data Management Strategy: Assist in the execution of the master data management strategy, ensuring alignment with the organization’s business objectives and digital transformation goals.

Drive Data Standards and Governance: Help in the development and enforcement of master data standards, processes, and governance models to maintain data integrity across all business units and systems.

Facilitate Data Quality Reviews: Participate in regular data quality reviews, helping to identify and implement corrective actions to improve data accuracy and reduce duplication and inconsistencies.

Collaborate on Technological Solutions: Work with IT and business stakeholders to design and support the implementation of technological solutions that enhance data quality, including automated monitoring and reporting tools.

Integrate Master Data Processes: Aid in ensuring the successful integration of master data processes with other business processes, such as supply chain, finance, and customer relationship management.

Continuous Improvement Initiatives: Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to master data, identifying opportunities to optimize data-related workflows and system functionalities.

Support Data Migration Projects: Assist in the planning and execution of data migration projects, ensuring adherence to data standards and quality benchmarks during system upgrades or transitions.

Point of Contact for Data Inquiries: Act as a point of contact for master data-related inquiries and issues, supporting resolution efforts and ensuring clear communication with stakeholders.

Documentation and Training: Help develop and maintain training programs and documentation to improve master data literacy within the organization, promoting a shared understanding of data governance principles and practices.

Monitor Industry Trends: Stay informed about industry trends and advancements in master data management, assisting in the evaluation and recommendation of new tools, techniques, and methodologies.

Measure Effectiveness of Initiatives: Support the establishment and tracking of key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of master data initiatives, contributing to reports and data-driven recommendations for improvement.
Do you qualify?

Bachelor’s degree in business informatics, Information Technology, or a related technical field.

Or alternatively At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in SAP and master data management or a related role.

Basic understanding of SAP Material Master Data and related processes.

Familiarity with SAP data structures and system architecture.

Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Strong communication skills with the ability to explain data concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
The annual pay range for this position is $106,000 – $133,000
The pay offered for this role may be influenced by factors such as job location, scope of role, qualifications, education, experience, & complexity/specialization/scarcity of talent.
This position is also eligible for a performance bonus or sales commissions. ZEISS also offers robust benefits, including medical plans, retirement savings plan and paid time off.
