The opportunity
TC Energy’s Canadian Natural Gas Pipelines is looking for a Marketing Representative to join our Commercial Marketing team. We rely on our Marketing Representatives to position TC Energy as the pipeline company of choice for customers and the preferred transportation provider for gas from the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin (WCSB) and Eastern Canadian supply points by strategically managing customer transportation accounts, effectively resolving issues related to transportation service, and developing effective relationships with customer representatives.
Reporting to Commercial Marketing leaders, in this role you will be responsible for commercial interactions with existing and new customers requiring natural gas transportation services on the Canadian Mainline, Nova Gas Transmission (NGTL) and interconnected pipeline systems. Developing and maintaining relationships with customers, industry stakeholders, and internal groups will be critical to your facilitating solutions for new and existing transportation service requirements.
What you’ll do

Position TC Energy as the pipeline company of choice for customers and the preferred transportation provider for gas in the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin and end use markets by strategically managing customer transportation accounts, effectively resolving issues related to transportation service, identification and execution of strategic growth opportunities, and developing effective relationships with customer representatives

Manage the development of commercial solutions to meet customer transportation service requirements from inception through the regulatory process

Obtain comprehensive knowledge of business drivers and priorities of our business partners, competitors and customers to inform TC Energy in the development of Canada Gas and NGTL strategies

Understand TC Energy’s commercial and corporate strategy initiatives, and support customers' engagement to enable successful implementation

Successfully navigate internal stakeholder considerations for consultative decision-making process

Develop business proposals and commercial recommendations supported by robust analysis and analytical assessments

Market and negotiate with customers to meet their transportation service requirements

Lead and participate on special TC/NGTL initiatives driving for continuous improvement in business outcomes and customer experience

Energy advocacy

This position may involve interaction with customers located outside of Calgary, and occasional business travel may be required.
Minimum Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Management, Economics or Engineering

Minimum 10 years industry experience

Demonstrated commercial negotiation skills
-
Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to establish effective and relevant relationships with customers and internal stakeholders to achieve business goals

Ability to lead complicated commercial problem solving and commercial initiatives

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to coordinate cross-functional teams to identify, develop and implement business opportunities

Demonstrated team player.
Preferred Qualifications
-
Familiarity with Canadian pipeline systems and transportation services

Strong understanding of supply and market fundamentals in the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin and downstream markets

Demonstrated business acumen, including a strong understanding of key business issues for natural gas producers, markets and storage

An understanding of business strategy and economics in order to develop commercial and customer strategies and originate commercial opportunities

Working knowledge of the NGTL, Foothills and Canadian Mainline Systems, existing Tariff services, natural gas markets, a regulatory environment, contracts and an ability to make service recommendations based on customer needs

Proven ability to analyze and solution complex business problems

Experience in quantitative analysis, project management and or business development considered advantages.
