JOB SUMMARY:

The Manager of Market Intelligence is primarily responsible for collecting, analyzing and reporting information needed to make strategic decisions that impact the many facets of PulteGroup’s home building business, including land acquisition and sales execution. Provide the “voice of consumer” with sound data research on consumer preferences that can be applied to the Division’s strategy for community location and positioning, land planning design, home specifications, etc.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Gather market data to provide written and verbal analysis including presentations, reports (charts/graphs) used to impact strategy on PulteGroup’s community positioning. 

  • Monitor competitive activity for active and future projects.

  • Complete regular competitive market analyses to impact future and current community positioning.

  • Manage market positioning studies (feasibilities) for all potential land transactions.

  • Analyze market demographics to identify consumer group preferences and trends.

  • In-depth fieldwork to understand market dynamics, the competitive environment, consumer preferences and submarket perceptions.

  • Coordinate Del Webb Site Validation studies with the Market Research team.

  • Collaborate with cross functional teams (land acquisition, sales, finance, procurement, etc.).

  • Communicate market dynamics to Division leadership.

  • Contribute to and manage annual strategic planning.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in competitive assessments and/or market evaluations and/or consumer research in homebuilder or similar industry 

  • Home building experience and local market knowledge a plus

REQUIRED SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE:

  • Demonstrated confidence in influencing others with data

  • Highly analytical with the ability to translate raw data into meaningful insights

  • Solid project management capabilities with ability to collaborate cross-functionally 

  • Creativity in both solving problems and devising potential solutions

  • Deep understanding of consumer segmentation

  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) 

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a direct, tactful style and good listening skills

  • Travel will vary and is estimated to range from 5% – 30%
