Job Description
Job Summary
Manager of Loss Forecasting will play the lead role in developing Exeter’s Credit loss forecast and providing variance analysis on a periodic basis. The individual will lead the loss forecasting team to improve loss forecasting tools and processes, ensure compliance and perform ad-hoc analysis to investigate variances. Additionally, the individual will also own sub-components of loss forecasting, such as Securitization, Warehouse and Loan loss reserves forecasting.
Job Duties

Oversees and ensures the execution of monthly loss forecasting (including Securitization, Warehouse and Loan loss reserves forecasting), variance explanation and communicates results and variances to management.

Monitors daily operations of loss forecasting analysts and exercises independent judgement to solve day-to-day challenges and escalations based on subject matter expertise and organizational knowledge.

Manages and develops others in alignment with Exeter’s People and Performance expectations.

Proactively identifies and makes recommendations to improve loss forecasting tools, models and processes.

Performs ad-hoc analysis and insight generation in alignment with business objectives.

Build effective working relationships with other departments in order to meet business goals and objectives.

Ensures compliance with Exeter’s policies & procedures, safety, state and federal laws, regulations and standards.

Education and Work Experience
-
College degree in a job related field, or equivalent experience.
-
Six or more (6+) years of similar experience in a credit analytics or loss forecasting; automobile lending and/or collections experience is required; with at least one (1) year in a management role.

Ability to use appropriate analysis, judgment, and logic when solving issues, providing recommendations and making decisions.

Ability to apply industry knowledge and critical thinking skills while solving day-to-day problems.

Must possess sound judgment in gauging the severity of identified problems.

Strong analysis and reporting skills.

Proficient in Excel and SQL.

Good communication skills, both written and verbal.

Strong problem solving skills.

Able to complete multiple tasks with minimal supervision and be self-motivated.

High competency with reporting tools and metrics.
