The Inflight Training Manager is responsible for leading a team that delivers training programs that will address the needs of Breeze Flight Attendants while meeting regulatory requirements, where applicable. They support, motivate, and oversee the Inflight Training Team of Training Supervisors and Instructors. The Manager is also responsible for leading and coordinating the delivery of eLearning, video, and other instructional solutions for Breeze Airways.
Here’s what you’ll do
- Develop and execute the short- and long-term vision and goals for all functions of learning design, compliance and execution, eLearning development and the continuous design and implementation of technology-based solutions
- Work with the other Managers to ensure consistency among training programs, processes, and products, and ensures that the programs support regulatory requirements and corporate goals
- Accountable for editing, updating and maintaining the Flight Attendant Training Manual (FATM), in coordination with changes in the Flight Attendant Manual (FAM). While ensuring alignment and interfacing with all other company manuals and Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs).
- Collaborate with key stakeholders across the organization on company projects to align with organizational goals and implement necessary update to the Flight Attendant Training Program
- Oversees multiple training locations in SLC, BDL, PVD and will travel occasionally to support the operation, audit training programs, and ensure compliance
- Oversee all aspects of the Learner Experience including the Learning Management System implementation and support team
- Support other divisions and internal guests by collecting feedback and recommending solutions manage all details associated with successfully delivering and implementing learning programs
- Take a significant role in the development of supervisors and instructors to support engagement, growth, goal achievement
- Responsible for a team of Inflight Training Supervisors
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensures quality of instructional content delivered by routine Instructor assessments, evaluations, and Participates in safety debriefs to determine areas of deficiency.
- Conduct FAA and DOT regulated Initial, Recurrent, Transition and Requalification training. Ensure compliance with FAA regulations related to Flight Attendant training
- Maintain Scheduling Commitments: Directly responsible for scheduling all classroom instruction and training events.
- Support a Team of Instructors: Closely monitors performance of all Inflight Responsible for interviewing, hiring and the training of Inflight Instructors. Assumes a proactive role in creating and implementing policies and procedures for entire Inflight Training Department
- Responds to emails and meeting requests within 24 hours and oversees the Inflight Training email group
- Other duties as assigned by the Senior Manager, Inflight Training & Standards
- Achieve performance measures and adhere to established standards in conjunction with Breeze Aviation Group Values of Safety, Kindness, Integrity, Ingenuity and Excellence
Here’s what you need to be successful
Minimum Qualifications
- 4+year degree or equivalent additional experience
- 2+ years’ experience in Flight Attendant training
- 2+ years’ experience leading a diverse team
- 2+ years’ experience as a Flight Attendant
- Knowledge of adult learning methodologies
- Ability to travel
- Available for flexible daily scheduling to support Breeze’s operation
- Ability to maintain current Breeze Flight Attendant Certification
- Ability to speak well in public and maintain a positive image for the Inflight Training Department
- Knowledge of professional development, instructional design, and curriculum development
- Proven industry awareness and strong understanding of FAA regulations, particularly Part 121 Inflight and FARs
- Must pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug test
- Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
- When working or traveling on Breeze flights, and if time permits, all capable teammates are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft cabin
- High performance orientation, ability to work well under pressure, prioritize projects, meet deadlines, and maintain flexibility
- Self-starter must have a positive attitude and strong desire for success
- Ability to relocate to SLC, CHS or PVD
- Must pass a DOT pre-employment drug test
- Must pass a TSA required fingerprint-based criminal history records check and a Breeze background check
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years’ leading a team of Inflight Instructors or facilitators
- Experience with DCTs, Training Manuals and FAA relations
