Job Purpose
The primary responsibility of the position will be for the management and administration of the global mobility program—including oversight of external vendors (e.g., relocation, tax, and immigration) and partnership with mobility partners in the business units—as well as management of our US immigration program.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborates with business units in the administration of mobility assignments and the resolution of issues related to those assignments.
- Proposes and implements changes to the design of global mobility program philosophy, policies and procedures and provides interpretation of company practices to answer questions from Human Resources and management.
- Manages the administration of all global assignments, which includes all processes and daily activities related to global assignments.
- Educates employees, managers, and HR business partners on expatriate assignments through use of training programs developed by this position.
- Collaborates with HR business partners to provide advice, ensure compliance with policies, manages exceptions, and acts as the coordination point between home and host HR staff, external relocation, tax and immigration partners, and the transferring employee.
- Works and directs vendors on all domestic and international relocations.
- Initiates cost projections in order to obtain approval from Business Unit Leadership on all expatriate assignments. Once approved, initiates assignment letters, relocation and immigration authorizations, and tax support services for new assignments, extensions, reassignments, localizations, and repatriations.
- Coordinates year-end compensation data collection for assignees.
- Prepares data analyses and reports as needed.
- Participates in and analyzes information from market surveys regarding global mobility and relocation, assesses market competitiveness and recommends program changes to management.
- Responsible for working with external tax consultants on all tax matters related to expatriate assignments, including hypothetical tax updates and tax equalizations.
- Acts as a key liaison between external immigration counsel and business partners for all immigration matters on a global basis.
- Creates and maintains documentation on processes and initiates process improvements.
- Manages mobility cost spend and performance vs. budget and proposes cost savings ideas.
- Role has two (2) direct reports—a Senior Immigration Specialist (US) and a Mobility Specialist/Intern.
What we're looking for
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field of study.
- A minimum of five (5) years Human Resources experience required.
- A minimum of five (5) years of experience supporting domestic and global mobility programs is preferred
- Ability to interface with all levels of employees.
- Must be highly organized and detail oriented.
- Demonstrated coordination, facilitation, consultation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
