Reporting to the Senior Manager, Accounting, the Manager, Accounting’s primary responsibility is managing the accurate and timely processing of accounting information in accordance with the firm’s accounting policies and procedures. They will lead the Operations Accounting team from the Boston office and will work closely with other Finance teams (e.g. International Accounting team, AP, Treasury, Tax, Payroll, FP&A).
What You Will Do:

Supervise the General Ledger and its interaction with all subsidiary ledgers to ensure accurate and timely recording of transactions in the General Ledger while maintaining proper controls.

Ensure timely and accurate completion of the monthly balance sheet account reconciliations.

Manage and improve the close and reconciliation reporting tool, FloQast
-
Manage Operations Accounting team, allocating and monitoring work assignments and performance to ensure an accurate and timely monthly and year-end close.

Manage and mentor a team of accountants and foster an environment of collaboration, learning, growth and ownership.

Oversee the alignment of the monthly financial activity with AP, FP&A and Tax and investigate any unexpected differences prior to closing the books.

Work closely with other General Ledger Accounting teams to support year-end audit activities for all audits and financial statement preparations.

Manage the preparation of and filing of several regulatory and tax schedules, including reporting for insurance renewals / AmLaw / Census, maintenance of country specific fixed asset schedules and overhead allocation models.

Coordinating more complex accounting projects and initiatives with other members of the accounting and finance team or with other departments including proactively recommending operational improvements to address emerging regulations globally.

Develop and recommend improved internal controls and processes and monitor compliance and effectiveness of controls.

Demonstrates a commitment to excellence across all areas of responsibility, including client service, team leadership, and functional deliverables.
Who You Are:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration, or equivalent.
-
CPA designation or MBA is desirable.
-
8+ years of related financial management experience in a professional service organization; law firm experience preferred.

3+ years of direct employee management experience.
-
Excellent people management skills, with a proven track record of managing an effective and collaborative team.

Strong accounting knowledge.
-
Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
-
Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills and ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously.

Excellent computer skills, proficiency in spreadsheet software applications, and ability to train others in their use.
