Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated Machine Learning and Perception Software Intern to join our team in the summer of 2025. This internship offers a unique opportunity to contribute to machine learning (ML) software that runs on real robots across the United States 24/7/365. You will help us improve our cloud-based ML pipelines, ML edge deployment, and other perception software essential to our robots' autonomous operation. You will work closely with our experienced engineers to streamline processes and build robust, scalable solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the design, automation, and productionization of machine learning training pipelines in AWS.
- Optimize data preprocessing, model training, optimization, and deployment workflows for scalability and efficiency.
- Support integration of perception modules into robotic platforms.
- Conduct rigorous testing to validate system functionality and performance in various scenarios.
Qualifications
- Required Skills
- Proficiency in Python.
- Strong understanding of machine learning concepts and practices.
- Familiarity with Git or other version control systems.
- Hands-on experience with AWS services, particularly those relevant to ML workflows (e.g. at least two of S3, EC2, SageMaker, Lambda).
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
- Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of computer vision libraries and frameworks (e.g., OpenCV, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
- Hands-on experience deploying machine learning models on local or edge devices.
- Knowledge of containerization technologies (i.e. Docker, Kubernetes).
- Background in robotics or real-time perception systems.
