Job Description
Summary:
Averna is seeking a highly knowledgeable and experienced specialist to join our team in India. This role will primarily focus on managing logistics operations with a strong emphasis on importations, ensuring compliance with Indian regulations and taxes. The candidate will also be responsible for global exportation, managing accurate documentation and timely delivery.
Additionally, the specialist will provide essential support for procurement activities, including placing orders, follow up and building vendor relationships. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver, detail-oriented, and flexible in taking on additional responsibilities as needed.
Roles and responsibilities
Importation Management:
- Oversee the import process
- Ensuring Trade compliance with Indian regulations, taxes, and customs requirements.
- Autonomously resolve issues proactively
- Customs documentation
- Risks assessment
- Tarif classification
Exportation Coordination:
- Manage the export of goods worldwide
- Ensuring accurate documentation and timely delivery
- Freight forwarder and carriers’ coordination
- Export compliance
- Customer communication – follow up to delivery
- Risk management
- Supply chain disruption
Procurement Support:
- Assist with procurement daily tasks,
- Placing purchase orders,
- Building vendor relationships
- Following up on orders.
Qualifications
- Extensive experience in logistics, particularly importation in India.
- Strong understanding of Indian import regulations, taxes, and compliance.
- Detail-oriented with excellent documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and solve problems quickly.
- Basic procurement knowledge with a willingness to support procurement activities.
- Flexibility to take on additional responsibilities as needed.
- Ability to work under pressure and stress
- Ability to work in collaboration with others
- Strong multitasking skills
Skills and experience:
- Minimum 3 years in Logistics, Knowledge of basic purchasing a plus.
- System Knowledge: ERP or equivalent
