LMW Compliance Specialist
Job Description
About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and details-oriented LMW (Licensed Manufacturing Warehouse) Coordinator to join our greenfield organisation at Brooks Automation in Malaysia. This critical role ensures the effective and compliant operation of our LMW, focusing LMW regulatory compliance, and process improvement. As a key member of the team, you will work to maintain high standards of efficiency, accuracy, and regulatory adherence, directly impacting our supply chain and manufacturing operations.
Work Location: Onsite – Johor, Malaysia.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the LMW, ensuring all processes meet the regulatory requirements set by Malaysian customs and related authorities.
- Ensure operations is compliance with Malaysia’s customs, import/export laws, and specific LMW requirements, including monitoring customs duties, tax exemptions, and other related activities.
- Serve as the primary point of contact internal stakeholders, and external regulatory authorities such as MIDA and Customs departments.
- Prepare and maintain proper documentation for all LMW transactions, including import/export permits, customs declarations, and inventory records.
- Prepare and submit timely and accurate reports on inventory levels, material movements, audits, and LMW compliance status to the management.
- Coordinate closely and take part in regular inventory counts and audits, ensuring consistency between physical stock and system of records.
- Support internal and external audits related to the LMW, ensuring all audit requirements and corrective actions are addressed promptly.
- Investigate discrepancies and work with internal teams to resolve issues related to non-compliance.
- Provide training to internal stakeholders to create awareness in LMW related policies, procedures, safety protocols, and compliance requirements to ensure that all team members fully understand their roles, responsibilities, and expectations within the LMW environment.
- Foster a collaborative and compliant work culture, ensuring all stakeholders are motivated to adhere to policies and procedures.
- Identify and recommend improvements in LMW processes, procedures, and systems to increase efficiency, minimize costs, and improve overall performance.
- Collaborate with the broader supply chain and operations teams to streamline workflows and enhance communication.
- Continuously monitor and stay updated on the latest developments and requirements set by authorities.
- Additional duties based on business needs.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Min 5 years of experience in regulatory/compliance, logistics or a warehouse management, ideally within a manufacturing or technology-driven environment.
- Experience managing a License Manufacturing Warehouse (LMW) in the current or previous job function is a MUST
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with cross-functional teams and regulatory authorities.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and compliance.
- Proficiency in using ERP applications, i.e. Oracle Cloud / SAP ERP and capable of running reports and consolidating the statutory requirements for compliance
- Strong problem-solving skills, proactive, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
