Job Description:

As an Engineer in our 247 team, you will play a pivotal role in providing advanced, out of hours technical expertise on our servers in order to maintain a high level of support service. You will contribute to the professional growth of team members, and optimize processes for improved efficiency and customer satisfaction. Our engineers are responsible for working with customers through troubleshooting, monitoring and enhancing solutions, with a focus on customer experience, where all members of the team work together to maintain SLAs and KPIs. This position will be based from our Erskine campus.

This role offers shift allowance due to the nature of the shifts and a degree of flexibility to cover various hours of work.

Suitable candidates for this role must be eligible to obtain SC clearance and possible DV clearance at a later date. You must also be within a reasonable travel distance to the Erskine campus.

 

What will I be doing?

  • Delivering unparalleled customer service and being a focal point for the organisation outside of hours, covering our emergency support hours, 24 hours a day, 7days a week.
  • Supporting in DR tests across multiple virtual platforms.
  • Remediation security vulnerabilities highlighted by our compliance team.
  • Performing scheduled planned change work outside of hours.
  • Helping with the setup, configuration, and support of our Linux and Windows servers
  • Innovating and aiding in the development of new and improved products
  • Developing your expertise in the vast suite of technologies we work with

 

Essential Job Functions:
• Provide technical support in infrastructure services, responding to issues and assisting in tasks.
• Contribute to the implementation of infrastructure projects and assignments.
• Monitor and troubleshoot infrastructure systems, ensuring reliability and performance.
• Work with the team to enhance infrastructure effectiveness and address technical challenges.
• Support the development of infrastructure documentation, including incident logs and configuration records.
• Apply technical knowledge to address infrastructure-related challenges.
• Follow established best practices and standards in infrastructure service delivery.
• Utilize technical skills to address infrastructure issues and incidents.

 

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Typically, 4+ years of relevant work experience in industry, with a minimum of 1+ years in a similar role
• Proven experience in infrastructure technology analysis
• Proficiencies in data analysis and technical knowledge
• A continuous learner that stays abreast with industry knowledge and technology

 

Other Qualifications:
• An advanced degree in a relevant field is a plus

• An understanding of Solaris would be an advantage
