Your role as Legal Counsel, Privacy
Reporting to the Director, Privacy Officer, and Senior Legal Counsel, you will play a key role within the legal team by ensuring compliance with data protection laws and regulations while supporting multiple departments, including medical operations, sales, product, technology, and human resources.
What you’ll be doing:
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of relevant laws and regulations
- Draft memos
- Develop and implement policies and procedures
- Manage risk assessments risks and recommend mitigation measures
- Manage privacy incident management, complaints, and access requests
- Participate in risk assessments for cross-functional projects
- Manage vendor risk assessments and respond to client and vendor inquiries
- Offer timely and practical legal advice to various teams
We'd love to hear from you if you have:
- 0 to 2 years of experience, ideally in data privacy or a regulated environment
- Bachelor’s degree in civil law (LL.B. or LL.L.), member of the Quebec or Ontario Bar
- Ability to independently develop policies and processes
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and drafting skills
- Excellent ability to manage multiple files simultaneously
- Experience in developing data protection programs (Asset)
