OverviewThe Franchise and Legal Solutions (FLS) Program contributes to the future of Mastercard by enabling growth in products, markets, services, and innovations in an increasingly complex and competitive environment while protecting our brand and business. We support, enable, and protect the franchise agreement by implementing the rules of the road for anyone interacting with our business. Our teams design, develop, and maintain comprehensive business solutions that connect the dots across different regions and functions. Franchise and Legal Solutions Program is looking for a Senior Software Development Engineer to drive best practices for software development while delivering on our customer commitments.

As a Senior Software Development Engineer at Mastercard, you are expected to perform the following general duties:
Participate in team prioritization discussions with Product/Business stakeholders
Estimate and own delivery tasks (design, dev, test, deployment, configuration, documentation) to meet the business requirements
Automate build, operate, and run aspects of software
Drive integration of services focusing on customer journey and experience
Perform demos/acceptance discussions in interacting with Product owners
Drive adoption of technology standards and opinionated frameworks, and review coding, test, and automation work of team members
All About You
Strong hands-on experience in Hadoop, Spark, Scala, and NiFi pipeline development
Ability to write secure and optimized code in Scala
Experience with big data processing frameworks (Apache Spark, Hive, HDFS, Kafka, Flink)
Strong understanding of data ingestion, transformation, and processing using NiFi pipelines
Understanding of distributed computing principles and handling large-scale data processing
Familiar with secure coding standards and vulnerability management
Understands branching strategies (e.g., Gitflow) and peer review best practices
Experience with test-driven development (TDD) and behavior-driven development (BDD)
Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins.
Strong experience in Agile and SDLC methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with debugging capabilities
Good to have: Experience in Java Spring Boot development
Ability to work in cross-functional teams and interact with business stakeholders
Experience with API development, microservices, and RESTful services
Strong communication skills and ability to mentor junior engineers
