Prysmian (NYSE: BGC), headquartered in Highland Heights, Kentucky, is a leader in the development, design, manufacture, marketing and distribution of copper, aluminum and fiber optic wire and cable products for the communications, energy, industrial and specialty markets. The Company offers competitive strengths in such areas as breadth of product line, brand recognition, distribution and logistics, service and operating efficiency. Communications wire and cable products transmit low-voltage signals for voice, data, video and control applications. Energy cables include low-, medium- and high-voltage power distribution and power transmission products. The Industrial and Specialty segment is comprised of application-specific cables for uses such as electrical power generation (traditional fuels, alternative and renewable sources, and distributed generation), the oil, gas and petrochemical industries, mining, industrial automation, marine, military and aerospace applications, power applications in the telecommunications industry, and other key industrial segments.
Basic Function: Reporting to the Distribution Manager, the Receiving Supervisor is responsible for leading, coordinating, and managing all inbound material flow. Scheduling inbound appointments as necessary and live loading/unloading of trucks dependent on demand. Coordinating required materials through various production departments to satisfy customer delivery while optimizing production efficiencies and inventory FIFOS. Individual must be able to optimize inventory investments in raw material and supply items to ensure plant reaches operational goals. This position will also work with other plant personnel on continuous improvement methods in scheduling and inventory control. Working closely with supply chain and operations groups to ensure machines always have appropriate levels of inventory on hand.
Principle Functional Responsibilities:
1. Drives Safety as a Core Value for themselves and everyone in the plant.
2. Supervise personnel in the receiving department ensuring a safe and efficient team operating in a 24x7 environment.
3. Ensure receiving department functions are conducted in an accurate manner, auditing receipts, and scheduling inbound deliveries daily.
4. Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed in DataStream.
5. Conduct weekly and quarterly cycle counts.
6. Maintain forklift fleet through quarterly PMs and request service as needed.
7. Review and resolve discrepancies between purchase orders and received items, supporting freight claims as needed.
8. Train and evaluate staff, holding team accountable to safety regulations.
9. Maintain records on received items.
10. Support month end inventory reconciliation activities.
11. Engage and sustain 6S activities within the Department.
Key Requirements:

Desired Background:
1. Proven experience in a receiving or materials background. Specifically manufacturing.
2. Experience in MRP and pull flow systems.
3. 3 - 5 years’ experience in supervision in the manufacturing arena.
4. Experienced negotiator in managing vendors and suppliers assuring best price, quality to specification and on-time delivery.
5. Materials background; receipt to shipment.
6. Process improvement, lean, 6S
Education:
Minimum of a BS/BA degree in related field preferred.
