Kubernetes DevOps Engineer

DB Global Technology is Deutsche Bank’s technology center in Central and Eastern Europe. Opened in January 2014, the Bucharest office is constantly expanding.

We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive DevOps Engineer who possesses strong technical and operational expertise along with a deep understanding of private cloud infrastructures. You will be part of a dynamic team responsible for designing, deploying, automating, and maintaining a private cloud solution based on Kubernetes running on bare metal Linux servers. This role is critical in ensuring the efficiency and reliability of our cloud operations.

Responsibilities

• Perform the design, build, testing, and deployment of changes within the private cloud environment, including new functionalities in Kubernetes with stateful services such as PostgreSQL, Kafka, and MongoDB.
• Guide teams in the deployment and scaling of containerized applications using Kubernetes on bare metal, while debugging and troubleshooting issues within the platform to ensure optimal performance.
• Automate manual processes and workflows pertaining to the private cloud infrastructure, and develop tools and automation scripts to enhance scalability and operational efficiencies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that changes consider the full spectrum of the organization’s IT infrastructure and integrate new services seamlessly.
• Define and deploy systems for metrics, logging, and monitoring to ensure continuous system health and performance, while enhancing and enforcing the company’s IT and cloud security protocols tailored for the private cloud setup.

Skills

• Strong expertise in Kubernetes, with hands-on experience in deploying and managing Kubernetes clusters on bare metal, 5-7 years.
• Proficiency in Linux system administration and infrastructure-level scripting (Python, Ansible, and bash scripting).
• Solid understanding of computer networks, virtualization, and containerization concepts.
• Demonstrable experience in configuring and managing private cloud infrastructures.
• Familiarity with security best practices and performance tuning in a private cloud context.
