Job Summary: We are seeking a highly experienced and successful Key Account Manager to join our client within the private Pharma, MedTech, or Consumer Health industries in South Africa. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in sales and client relationship management, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent communication skills, the ability to engage with C-Suite stakeholders and a deep understanding of the industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Executive presence and C-suite Communication: Demonstrated ability to engage comfortably with and build relationships with C-suite executives.
  • Financial Acumen: Strong understanding of financial concepts, including financial statements, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Client Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key clients, healthcare professionals, and industry stakeholders. Act as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring their needs are met and expectations exceeded.
  • Sales Strategy: Collaborate with the sales team to develop and implement effective sales strategies that align with business objectives. Identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling products and services to existing clients.
  • Market Analysis: Conduct thorough market research and analysis to stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and customer needs. Use this information to inform client strategies and identify new business opportunities.
  • Customer Satisfaction: Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by providing exceptional service and support. Address client concerns and issues promptly and effectively, ensuring a positive client experience.
  • Reporting and Analytics: Generate regular reports on client activities, sales performance, and market trends. Use data-driven insights to track progress, identify areas for improvement, and make informed business decisions.
  • Compliance: Ensure all client interactions and sales activities comply with industry regulations, company policies, and ethical standards. Promote a culture of integrity and accountability within the team.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, product development, and customer support, to ensure a cohesive approach to client management and business development.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in account management or sales, preferably in the Pharmaceutical or Consumer Health Industries.
  • Demonstrated experience and a successful track record as a senior professional sales representative with management experience in South Africa’s private Pharma, MedTech, or Consumer Health industries.
  • Track Record: Demonstrated success in achieving and exceeding sales targets, managing client relationships, and driving business growth.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, or a related field. An MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification is preferred.
  • Skills: Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Excellent strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Industry Knowledge: In-depth understanding of the Pharma, MedTech, or Consumer Health industries, including market dynamics, regulatory environment, and key players.
