Job Description
The CIMA+ offices in Western Canada are in the middle of a large growth trajectory. This means new, exciting complex projects you will have the ability to shape and be a part of. We are actively looking for people who want to develop their skillsets, take on new challenges, and advance their careers within the organization.
We are looking for a Junior Technologist to join and grow with our dynamic, expanding Transportation team in Edmonton. You will work closely within a team, in a variety of functions, helping to deliver a broad range of transportation projects throughout Western Canada. Our preferred candidate will be a graduate of a related Engineering Technology Program, with a desire to gain experience in drafting, design, and field work for transportation related projects.
You will have the opportunity to take part in our hybrid work model which includes flexible work hours, working from home and in our Edmonton Office.
Primary Responsibilities
- Under the direction of the Production Lead and in close collaboration with Project Managers, prepare and modify figures and design drawings (functional, preliminary, and detailed), primarily using AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D software.
- Perform or assist with quantity calculations.
- Provide technical support in the context of Transportation Engineering.
- Ensure drawing production meets current Client standards, guidelines and other requirements.
Qualifications
- Graduate of Engineering Design Technology, Civil Engineering Technology, or equivalent program from an accredited post-secondary institution.
- Eligible for Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) designation with ASET is an asset.
- Working knowledge working with Autodesk software, specifically AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D. Knowledge of MicroStation is considered an asset.
- A strong commitment to learning and self-improvement.
- A strong interest in working in the transportation field.
- Detail oriented and work with a high degree of accuracy.
- Ability to prioritize a variety of tasks and have the attitude that client service is top priority.
- Desire to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills to plan, organize and implement work within a specified budget while meeting the project deadlines.
- Valid driver’s license and vehicle is an asset.
The expected salary for this position is based on the richness and diversity of the candidate’s experience, training, skills and internal equity. The position or associated salary could vary depending on the profile of the candidate.
