Role's Responsibilities:
- Monitor database availability, performance, and disk space usage to ensure optimal operation.
- Assist with database backup, recovery, and routine maintenance (e.g., index rebuilding, updating statistics).
- Support database installation, patching, and updates as required.
- Manage database users, roles, and permissions while ensuring security protocols are followed.
- Troubleshoot and resolve access issues for users.
- Monitor database performance, generate reports, and identify slow-running queries.
- Analyze performance metrics and escalate issues to senior DBAs when needed.
- Support data import/export operations and maintain database scripts, queries, and reports.
- Validate data integrity and resolve minor inconsistencies.
- Maintain documentation of database configurations and procedures.
- Prepare reports for management and other teams using database data.
- Address support tickets, resolve basic database issues, and collaborate with developers on minor problems.
- Escalate complex technical issues to senior team members.
- Learn new database technologies and best practices through training, workshops, and mentorship from senior DBAs.
- 1-2 years of experience with Oracle Database.
- Solid understanding of database concepts, including tables, schemas, indexes, primary/foreign keys, and normalization.
- Familiarity with relational databases, particularly Oracle, and related management tools.
- Ability to write basic SQL queries and perform data retrieval and manipulation.
- Experience with database performance monitoring tools and basic understanding of database performance metrics (e.g., CPU, memory, disk I/O).
- Basic understanding of database backup and recovery processes, and familiarity with backup tools (e.g., RMAN for Oracle).
- Knowledge of operating systems (Linux, Windows) and ability to execute basic shell commands and navigate file systems.
- Exposure to scripting languages (e.g., Python, Shell scripting) for automation and understanding of batch/cron jobs.
- Knowledge of database security concepts, including user roles, permissions, data integrity, and encryption practices.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Exposure to Big Data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Kafka, Zookeeper, Yarn).
- Familiarity with PostgreSQL and NoSQL databases.
- Experience with data replication tools (e.g., Oracle GoldenGate, Change Data Capture).
- Exposure to cloud platforms (e.g., Oracle OCI, Azure, AWS).
Work Schedule:
- Standard work hours of 8 hours per day, based in the Asia Time zone (UTC+8).
- On-call availability during weekends.
