About the role
We’re seeking an ITS Operations Engineer to help change how we travel.
You’ll be among the first to work in a hybrid team environment that brings together a world-leading Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) team and an exceptional Corporate Core Services team. This collaboration aims to establish an outstanding support platform that will foster the development of innovative ideas and inspired engineering, leading to safer, more efficient, and more sustainable transport technology solutions
As our ITS Operations Engineer you’ll contribute to lasting and positive changes that shape the future of our cities and communities. It’s meaningful, challenging and exciting work.
Day-to-day, you will:
- Act as an escalation point, and provide 24/7 1st and 2nd level support to our Traffic Control and Operations Centres
- You’ll maintain applications, client operation systems, desktop equipment, server equipment, specialised systems and networked systems , having experience with Virtual Platforms such as VMWare, multiple Operating Systems, backup and monitoring systems such as Veeam and Solarwinds.
- You’ll ensure our ITS Systems are performing to their availability and reliability targets – you’ll monitor them closely and conduct maintenance and system upgrades to keep them operating at their best.
- You’ll monitor and maintain all sorts of specialised equipment including: CCTV equipment, PLCs data, network equipment, PABXs and Trunked radio, Traffic Flow Systems, and Building Security System
This role will suit someone with a curious mind and transferrable skills and experiences, including:
- Great communication and interpersonal skills – ability to interact with a diverse range of stakeholders at all levels
- You’ve worked in a similar role maintaining critical platform systems with a support relationship to electrical, electronic or IT system support.
- You’ve completed a TAFE or equivalent trade qualifications in Electrical / Electronic / Systems with 3-5 years’ experience in a comparable industry or Engineering Degree in Electrical / Electronic / Systems Engineering
- You’ll be organised, efficient and decisive in in prioritising the tasks that count, pressure doesn’t faze you
- You have a license to drive – you love everything about our roads after all
